A-Rich, deep mahogany with a thin off-white head that stuck around and left spotty lace.

S-Luscious and aromatic but at the same time subtle and reserved. This is about as balanced as possible. Neither the sweet caramel malt nor the spicy citrus hops take control.

T-Much like the aroma with an amazing balance of malt versus hops. Juicy hops and chewy malt....Hey, you stuck yours hops in my malt---Hey, you stuck your malt in my hops!

M-Medium bodied and quite rich. Lingering hop bite sneaks in on the back side.

D-Not my usual style...I prefer more hops but...I can't knock the balance and ease of drinking with this one. A near perfect compromise between malt and hops.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. A balanced malty beer, carmel to bulk up mouthfeel. easy on the carbonation. Subtle head. I believe an attempt at a Vienna red style.Readish colour, a bit of lace. Rounds out the lineup for the average patron. Some toasted malt would be interesting, and the version tried with wild yeast really did it (see review).

On tap at 6 & Save in New Kensington, PA.

Pours into a tulip a deep but translucent ruby, light red highlights, half-finger of head, with a few tiny, slow bubbles.

Smell is of mild floral hops, as it warms a little citrus.

Taste is florally hoppy, but cold & stony with little to balance. Kinda like there's just not much there, not much to report on. The aftertaste is fresh, like after you just ate a grape, or a salad for that matter. The mouthfeel is similar: clean & crisp, kind of refreshing, with a subtle bitter coating.

Drinkability's not bad -- it'd maybe be a good session beer for playing cards or something, an easy drinker. Just not sure I get the point, not a whole lot of flavor. Reminds me a lot of Levitation the first time I had it: a little bitterness & not much else.
