Visited Bullfrog just after their 11 am opening on a Wednesday afternoon. Had to cruise around the area a couple times to find a parking spot but no big deal - the adjacent parking lot is off-limits until after 6 pm. Look for the building with the huge mural on its side. After my arrival a lunch crowd slowly filtered in, leaving the place pretty full an hour later.

The brewpub is set in an old brick building in downtown Williamsport, deeper than it is wide. First and foremost, the mash and boil kettles are right inside the front door - no plexiglass barrier or valet rope, and the fermentation tanks are displayed openly and prominently behind the bar, which is pretty cool in my book. The whole place was filled with the fantastic aromas of barley mash. There's a long wooden bar, ornate ceiling tiles, and frog-green walls. Their musical selections were good and it appears they host bands on a somewhat regular basis.

There were 9 taps on at the time of my visit, nearly all of them appealing, making for a difficult choice. Of particular note were the Edgar IPA, Double Coffee Stout, Rogg-N-Roll, El Diablo, and the Local Harvest Fresh Hop Pale. Being as it was pre-noon, the Double Coffee Stout was an appropriate choice and it was just great - rich with coffee. I'd overlooked the Citra-delic Summer Wheat based on name/style alone, but reviews for that one are pretty ridiculous. They also tap a wild first Friday of each month, and bottle occasionally. A growler of the El Diablo, a Belgian golden aged on oak chips, sits in my fridge ready to be opened for football this afternoon. My pint was $5 and my growler $15 for the fill, not bad. High marks here not for quantity (although 9 ain't bad for a brewpub), but for diversity.

The bartender was pretty busy getting the place moving for lunch, so he was kinda short, but that's understandable. Samples were easy to come by, everything moved quickly, and my growler was nicely filled.

Food was good enough if nothing to rave about. My barbecue sandwich was tasty - though the heavy tomato bbq sauce isn't really my thing. The fries were battered, crispy, and really good.

Really like this place - I'll certainly be back whenever travels permit.

Stopped by on my way back home and was excited to find a brewery along the way. Headed into town and was excited to try out the brews. Had the sampler of the beers that were on tap. Nothing very memorable, all of them pretty much seem to meld together.

One that did stand out was the Blackberry JuJu, had that as my main pint for the evening. The food while looking good was pretty much bland. The onion rings were a bit oily and lacked salt. The pork schnitzel was good but again it lacked salt. The potato pancake that came with the schnitzel good, but lacked salt.

The mac & cheese with bacon was on point and was tasty. The roast beef melt was actually quite tasty so not all the food was bland. Overall, if you're looking to spend money on a local place I say try this place but don't expect a huge wow factor.

Buen Provecho!

This place is our family favorite of all the breweries within 100 miles!! The beer is outstanding to me as they fit my palate well. The Edgar IPA is my favorite of them all!! Of all the brewery's I have been to, to many to count, this IPA is in my top three. The Edgar IPA is equal to Newport Beach Brewery's IPA. Both outstanding!! Food is always good here as they use local grown product for the most part. It is worth the 3hr round trip to visit Bullfrog!! To me, a must stop place for all you hop heads if you are in the area.

The Mighty Bullfrog! Home of the funkiest beers north of the Susquehanna. This is a classic, small-town brewpub. Reminds me of Jackie O's in Athens, Ohio, but dirtier.

It smells like a brewery right as you go past the door. The tanks behind the bar are cool, and there are hippies everywhere. We were there on a Friday night and they had live music. Pretty good band, but kind of annoying too. I'm here for the beer!

10 taps: Baltic Porter with sour cherries, IPA, Stout, Funny Farmhouse Cider, Red Ale, Aggro Wheat, Sacre Blue, Old Gold, Farmhouse Apricot... of course you expect more from this renowned brewery. I guess I wanted to walk in to 25 taps and a million different sours, plus bottles. But... not too bad.

The Old Gold sour was stunning and hit all the right notes.

Will I come back? Yes, next time I am in the area. Would I make a significant detour to visit Bullfrog? Probably not, considering their beers are distributed on draft in Philadelphia...

Great food. Very fair proportions and booming with flavor. A good variety of styles. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. A couple beers were run of the mill, a few were very good, but nothing distasteful. Overall a very cool vibe; sweet custom made bar top earing trays, handcarved tap handles, cool decor / plant life, and crankin dead tunes all day. Great spot.

The exterior is rather unassuming, but the brew kettle is immediately visible to let you know that you have found the right spot. The bar is small, maybe 12 seats, with a full row of fermenters working in the back. I believe I counted 12 taps and there were 9 different beers available during my visit. All beers were available for growler fills. Unfortunately, I do not believe any bottled beers were available for on-site consumption or take out. The food was great, fresh, and very well matched to their beers. The staff were friendly and courteous without becoming over-bearing.

Huge interior with tons of seating. Was here for the Grrrz release so it was a bit of a sh*tshow. Fairly decent number of tap lines, lots of sub-par beers.

Awesome that the owners are cool with opening it up for bottle shares during the Grrrz overnight camp.
