Pretty good vibe from this place. Beer is waiting for you right as you enter. New Belgium bikes strewn all over the ceiling. Excellent quality and selection. Belgium section is one of the more extensive selections in town. Plenty to choose from in all aspects. Surprised by their amount of Evil Twin offerings, both large format and in 4 packs. Service was friendly, but I was mostly perusing on my own.

Recommended to me for their sour beer selection, and it was pretty good, though import heavy. Beer area was right up front by the door, a little cramped compared to the rest of the spacious new store. Walls were flanked with reach-in coolers, and a small half aisle of assorted craft and imports. Organization wasn't really a strong suit.

Highlights for me were Fantome Saison, Torn Label Tounge Lash (oddly shelved next to 22's of Bud Light), Boulevard Smokestacks, Defiance Awesomeness, 4 Hands Absence Of Light, and Off Color.

I was looking for some newer local craft stuff (Crane) and they hadn't heard of it at the counter, but a fellow customer schooled them on the lowdown when I asked. A few nice glasses from JP and Grimm in the middle of the store, which I only noticed after checking out since they were far away from the beer selection. Parking lot was worse than the local Walgreens in Chicago, and at a 45 degree angle to boot. Loved the classic neon sign out front. All said and done, they have a good selection but not really all inclusive.

Probably my favorite beer store in KC. Has a solid selection. Was able to get Enjoy By this morning and one of the workers let me know that they had a bottle of Espresso IRS in the back. A few beers were a little old (Wooky Jack 5 months old on the shelf), but it wasn't the norm. A very good selection of local and American craft beer. If you are looking for a great international selection in KC, I would suggest Royal Liquor.

Fair prices. Everything seemed to be about 10% cheaper than a number of other stores around town.

This store in midtown KC is well lit and spacious. The beer section is laid out nicely with different spaces for crafts, imports, seasonals, etc.

The beers in the store were from all over the nation. There was a better selection than what I can find in Springfield, MO, just 3 hrs away. The store was well stocked.

The service was great. We were helped by 2 different people who knew what they were talking about with the beers and who weren't afraid to offer recomendations based on what we were looking at.

Gomer's has been redesigned, so it's time for a new review. The new store is in the same location as the old one, but instead of an old worn down building it's now a new, clean, well lit, spacious store.

The service is perfect. They don't bug you too quickly, but if you ask questions they are available and knowledgeable. The quality is also top-notch, and it seems like the new store has been able to offer a better selection than the old one.

There are mega-stores with a wider selection, but this is my favorite place to go. The mega-stores don't sell their stock as quickly and the beer you get may not be as fresh.

Stopped by here last Saturday on my way to a friend's house in Westport. It's not a big place, but it's my understanding that it is a temporary location until the place next door is done. The beer appears to be well take care of and moves frequently. Service was great. They were proactive, asking me questions and offering good recommendations. The selection is good. KC gets a few thing that I don't get in Columbia. I would love to see a "mix a six" section. Good selection of bombers and 750s. I've love to see more Belgians. Prices are reasonable and in some cases better than I've seen in other stores. It is a good store to check out if you are in the area. I'll definitely be back.

Stopped here on a business trip recently while in KC (following an epic breakfast at Arthur Bryant's). Nice selection of regional and local beers, reasonable prices. Kind of weird layout and only some beers (mostly 6packs) in coolers. Great selection of oddball wines. Staff made themselves available, asked if I was looking for anything. Lots of Boulevard, a handful of others I didn't recognize, decent Belgian selection.

I wouldn't go out of my way but if you're nearby, it's worth a stop. Arthur Bryant's is roughly 5 miles away.

Every time I'm in Kansas City I check out this store. It is conveniently located for those staying near Westport and the Plaza. From the outside it looks a bit small, but they do pack quite a bit of craft beer in there. There is a good amount of cold beer along the back wall. There are some displays with some single bottles as well. About two years ago I found corked and cage La Folie here. Other notables include Boulevard (including Smokestacks), Tallgrass, Great Divide, New Belgium Lips of Faith, and Odell offerings. The prices are pretty reasonable and the staff is helpful.

Gomer's is the best selection in Kansas City proper. The selection is good. They tend to keep some of the better stuff in back or on a reservation list, not a bad thing, but sometimes everything isn't out for you to see. Even if you aren't a regular they are helpful and if you ask, they might have some good stuff for you to try. The store isn't in a rough area of town but not the friendliest, don't worry about that the customers are mostly Plaza and Westport business people. They have moved to a temporary store while the tear down and rebuild the old one. This will hopefully help with the look and feel as well as open up the aisles a little bit. The best beer selection you can find in the city.

Atmosphere: The store is located in a somewhat rough part of town in a small building. It looks like they would carry mostly malt liquor and cheap wine but once entering you realize what a gem this place is.

Quality: The quality of the beer is very good. After shopping here for the last eighteen months I've never encountered an out of date beer.

Service: The service is great. They offer help but are not pushy about it. Mark is an excellent resource for recommendations and the rest of the staff are always friendly.

Selection: The selection is very good considering the lack of space and they rotate in new beers regularly. They get a fair amount of limited releases but do sell out more quickly than some other stores.

Value: Their prices are on par with other stores, some beers are cheaper, some more expensive. They aren't quite as cheap as Lukas but they make up for that in service. They also refuse to mark up the limited releases like some of the stores. When Boulevard Chocolate Ale was selling for $20 at some other stores they had it for $12, the normal price for Boulevard's limited smokestacks.

Quality: All of the beer quality seemed to be good in this store, I definitely didn't see any bottles with dust on them or bottles with sediment layers. I wouldn't expect to find old or outdated bottles here.

Service: Had a nice talk with Mark, and he pointed out a couple local beers that I otherwise wouldn't have looked at. Overall very good.

Quality: I thought the store had awesome selection, probably the best that I have personally seen. Lots of stuff from Founders, Bells, Avery, New Belgium, Great Divide, Odell, Lagunitas, Boulevard of course (especially Smokestacks), and other stuff from smaller Missouri and Kansas breweries. Also a nice selection of Belgian and European beers.

Overall, I would love to have full time access to this store. Very good.
