On tap -Pours a clear gold straw color with billowy off white head leaving quite a bit of lacing. Nose is yeasty and malty with a hint of hops. Tastes like a decent pilsner should although not very exciting.

Nice, light, clean lager with hints of floral hoppiness. Notes of biscuit and smooth caramel, clean finish without much lingering mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. A nice safe beer, if a bit average.

Just OK for my tastes. Glad I tried it and only did because of my enjoyment of Old Rasputin.

I got a sixer of this and I poured this into a classic pint glass, a tried and tested approach to enjoying a beer.

Look: This beer possesses a beautiful fresh straw gold body, a foamy bone colored head that drags down a touch of spotty lacing. The carbonation rises from the bottom of its crystal clear body, unmarred by dregs. It glows with a buttery goodness to it that is clear as can be.

Smell: I love this smell, like nutty barley and caramel! I love the caramel element of this beer's aroma and I would try to capture that if I ever decide to homebrew. You smell the quality of the ingredients and the skill that went into making this liquid treat, with lovely fresh grassy hop aromas underneath that bright malty goodness that are borderline lemony! Good stuff.

Taste: The taste is clean throughout, first and foremost. Secondly, the balance is spot on! It starts with some of that great caramel maltiness but in a flash, it is backed up and supported by the refreshing characteristics of the hops, but with a good dose of earthiness that is not detectable on the nose. The finish is minerally and clean.

Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is just as balanced as the taste. It's slick throughout, but with a medium bodied chewiness for a moment right in the middle and then a snappy finish that is aided by the carbonation. Speaking of carbonation, there is a little bit of bloom in the mouth even with a head-coaxing pour so this one is lively, and I love it.

Overall: Man, what a great beer. It is definitely right on-style, and it is something enjoyable repeatedly so definitely a winner. Also, it seems to be everywhere around here in LA in every grocery store. If you see it near you, grab a sixer and give it a try.

12 oz. bottle poured into pilsener
(1/26/2018 packaged date printed on label)

L: brilliant clear gold topped by offwhite/beige head of foam over 1-inch tall; head is very sticky at the top and lingers for minutes; laces some on the way down off a thick collar

S: yeast, house paint; as it warms the malt sweetens into a light fruitcake; sour grain ... and the yeast is ever present

T: sweet yeast, dried peaches, dried apricots; the malt is bready, and it comes off like a peach kolache; hops add a mostly generic bitterness, perhaps a bit earthy

F: fluffy light, only lightly crisp

O: neither spectacular nor terrible, Scrimshaw is good but not quite good enough to break into my rotation of go-to pils; it's almost got a Vienna lager toasted malt/earthiness to it at times, and the peach note reminds me of an English pale ale

Pours a darkish straw lookin like Marissa Miller in a nightie. Aroma is subtle grass as compared to non subtle grass. Flavor is light and hoppy like Kermit on a bender. Not bad.
