Pours a wonderful amber brown with a small head. Flavor is great but also somewhat light, along with the feel. Functions more like a session ale. Simple yet effective.

A wonderful amber and easy to drink. Low fizz and a lot of flavor. Give it a try...you won't be disappointed.

Nice bitter malts, pretty balanced flavor with a nice spice. Pretty good mouthfeel, crisp. A good beer, nothing that makes it stand out. North Coast can always be relied on to be solid, though.

This one's been around a while, and still one of my favorites. A very well balanced statement -just good old ale. Nothing cute and no whammy flavors or aroma. I could drink this every day.

APA/Red Ale is a favorite style. While this one harkens to my first love - RedTail back in the 90s, it's mid pack today.
Otherwise love the brewer. Must try once.

a) beer pours a clear, bright medium reddish amber body, with one finger loose foamy, beige head, which fails to impress with stick or lace.

s) smells of grainy, bready, caramel malt, as a red should, balanced by peppery and floral hop, (nasturtium?) with mineral flintiness.
t) Follows smell. The taste resolves in nice mineral essence, with spicy herbal, grassy, and floral hops.
f) Mineral, smooth, finishes clean and dry, and hoppy.
o) Perhaps this is what I loved most about Red Tail Ale 25 years ago. For that it's a 4 overall.

From notes taken 04/28/17:

Semi-clear orange amber. Head is a creamy textured, fine-bubbled, heavy foam, of moderate retention, creamy-tan in color. Smell is somewhat sweet, spicy but not too dank, a little toast and dark fruit behind all that. Palate is similar but with more resin, pine, crackers, and some toffee. Starts out on the sweeter side, gradually morphs in a mild leathery and herbal but still spicy bitterness that is great in the balance. Light pepper to almost licorice retro-olfaction. Dry finish. Medium-bodied, sudsy and gulpy, with no burn and only faint astringency.

Amber colored beer with small head goes down really smooth. Had some maltiness to it but that brought out its flavor. Finishes great too. A beer worth trying

Poured into a clear plastic cup at an outdoor beach cafe. Amber in appearance with a nice head of foam. Aroma was of faint pine, freshly cut grass. The taste was amazing. Citrus with just the right amount of hop balance. Finish was crisp and refreshing. Overall a well crafted beer and solid B grade wise. Canned version would be perfect for a day out on the boat.
