Hey review #1,000! Cool! Poured out of the bottle into a tulip.

A: Hazy yellow-white with a nice orange tint. One finger eggshell white head faded rapidly into a thin layer of foam on the top. Minimal lacing.

S: Smells like your typical BSPA. Yeasty, floral, with a tinge of hops at the end.

T: Wow! This is a great tasting beer! A pleasantly surprising hoppiness hits the palate right up front, which I was not expecting. This quickly gives way to a buttery floral taste, and leaves notes of hops lingering after swallowing. Really good stuff.

M: Medium-bodied with medium carbonation. It feels kind of like a blanket is sitting on top of the tongue preventing all of the beer from surrounding it. Really weird, but not unpleasant.

O: Great tasting beer with everything else about it slightly above average. This is a really good example of a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. One would never guess that it was brewed in California. Will certainly drink this again.

Pours clear golden with thick white head in a snifter.

Smell is of belgian yeast, honey, cinnamon, and some lemon.

Taste is fruity with some cinnamon and spice. Mild lemon-y citrus notes. Good bitter finish to balance this one out.

Mouthfeel is densely carbonated. Smooth and medium bodied.

Overall this is a good example of the style.

Pours a crisp golden haze into a snifter, with a 2 inch foamy head that faded quickly.
Sweet spices on the nose, coriander, hint of nutmeg..
Citrusy on the tongue, spicy also, with a warming alcohol creeping up in the back. Hops are kept to a minimal as they should for the style.
Very refreshing, highly drinkable.
A true example of a Belgian golden ale by an American brewery!
Highly recommended!
