A: totally black, large, creamy, mocha colored head.

S: Dark chocolate, slight alcohol bitterness, burnt grain

T: Spent coffee grounds, bitter chocolate, burnt sugar

M: Good carbonation, not overly chewy, bitterenss kicks and sticks around on the tongue.

O: For the ABV, it is not apparent. Very well balance. A GREAT BEER and representation of the style.

Pours black, like russian caviar. Brown head, like russian winter hat made from bear.

This beer smells deeply. It loves deeply, and is loved back deeply. Coffee, hops, sweet malts. Like sweat off Drago's back. The american is weak.

Tastes, burnt, chocolate, dry dark sugars,

Aftertaste keeps coming back like Rasputin again and again.

You can kill the beer, but not the buzz it gives you. Great beer. Not as good as Red dawn, but good.

Wow, this is one hell of a brew. The 9% is not noticeable at all, but the chocolate flavors sure are! Appearance is good, but should have a larger head, especially considering this is a well carbonated brew. Scent is of chocolate, taste is of chocolate, but also some coffee flavor in there. There is a nice balance of hops and malt (malt being dominant here of course) that makes this brew very drinkable. I really can't get past the chocolate flavor here, this is almost a chocolate stout imo. Very good for the style, I was shocked at how quickly I finished this bottle.

Recommended, but how much I'm not sure, as I've yet to try many russian imperial stouts.
