Poured into a pint

A: Pours an opaque bitch black with a short light brown/ tan head that has some reddish hue to it, has considerable amounts of lacing

S: Smells like fudge, barley, vanilla

T: chocolatey, like fudge, bold smokey flavor, sweetness of vanilla, finished off with warmth from the alcohol

M: More carbonated than I was expecting, not overbearing or offensive though, very fulfilling, the alcohol leaves you with a warm feeling.

O: Overall its an excellent stout, with its bold, complex flavors, very delightful, perfect for the cold, windy season here on the mitten.

A: Black in color and poured out with three fingers of lights brown head. Good retention and lacing.

S: Chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and a hint of dark fruit.

T: Dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and raisins. A good amount of bitterness. Not as sweet as some others.

M: Medium bodied and creamy. Low to medium carbonation. I had expected it to be a bit thicker and fuller bodied.

O: A very good beer. My only complaint is that it was not thicker. I could see myself drinking this again as it is priced better than a lot of other imperial stouts of similar caliber, but it's not my favorite of the style.

12 Oz. bottle poured into Duvel Tulip
A- Pours a tan fluffy 2 fingers head, opaque black in color, nice head retention, consistent spotty lacing
S- Roasty, sweet chocolate, deep maltieness, some oak and dark fruit. Not very deep but dominated by roasted malts.
T- Nice roasted flavor, sort of burnt. Bitterness, caramel, chocolate, some alcohol as it warms
M- A little thick, smooth and some creaminess, roasted chocolate lingers in the mouth
O- A great year-round Imperial Stout, love that I can get this beer anytime I want. Roasty and Delicious.

Large, fluffy, caramel cololored head. Brew is gloppy black. Nice consistent lacing.

Amazing vanilla characteristics. Caramel, nutty, chocolate, and woody. Mild peanut butter scent. A bit floral for the the style. A bit crystal-y malty on the nose...

Very deep and dark without being overly heavy with chocolate or roasty nutty-ness. Carbonation is a bet extreme. Bitterness starts smooth and sharply turns to the ladder, but it ends very nicely leaving you wanting more.

A very nice RIS; one I've been putting off trying for no reason... It lives up to it's rating and should be tried by everyone who enjoy a solid stout on a cold fall day.
