Reviewed from notes taken on 12/28/13. Enjoyed during the fight.

The body was black, with a light brown head. Decent head retention, and wow does it lace up nice.

This one smelled malty with dark fruit up front. Vanilla and caramel made their way through, with a strong booze aroma at the end.

The flavor was not far from the nose. Malty with dark fruit up front. A woody vanilla flavor came in, and transitioned to a buttery boozy taste. Finish was chocolatey.

Medium-heavy bodied. Heavy residue is left on the tongue.

look: Deep dark, nearly opaque brown. Some cola highlights barely peek around the edges when held to light. Fairly full mocha head on the pour that mostly recedes, but lingers around the rim.
smell: cocoa, vanilla, and subtle roasty char. Delicate oak and bourbon. Added all up a damn fine and decadent nose.
taste: All the flavors of the nose. Blooms into a rich full taste and the finish is a slightly spicy bitterness.
overall: A work of art.

In a tulip glass the beer was black in color with a medium-sized tan head. There was a smattering of lace.

Wonderful aroma. Both dark and sweet chocolate, coffee. A little vanilla. A lot of booze.

The taste personified the aroma. Sweet chocolate/cocoa, dark chocolate. Bitter coffee. Big booze.

This was a full-bodied beer meant to be sipped. The alcohol is right there, but in a complimentary way.

I loved this beer!

Pours pure black with a slight skiff of tan head, still well carbonated.
The aroma is loaded with dark chocolate, roasted coffee, dark fruit and a touch of vanilla and leather.
The taste is incredibly smooth. Rich, deep dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, a hint of leather. Dark fruit near the finish with a walnut-like drying close.
Mouthfeel is creamy, smooth and even a bit bubbly.
Outstanding!
