XV. Bottle.

A: Leggy. Huge foamy mocha head. Pitch black.

N: Sharp bourbon, prune, vanilla, alcohol, dark cherries, smoke, melted dark chocolate and cinnamon. Despite all these flavors, it’s still mediocre. I don’t know how.

T: Bitter and smoky. Tons of char. Completely lacking in flavor.

M: Very thin for the style. No lasting effects except that of weak coffee.

O: Subpar, to the say least. I will never buy this beer again. Uninteresting waste of money. And this will continue get more fusel as it warms. I actually had a 2.7 on this at first and dropped it another 6 points after.

Poured into a pint glass.

Look: Pours dark, with a two finger tan head. It looks to have the viscosity of milk. (Awesome) Lacing is pretty solid as well. I love holding this up to the light and it just blacking it out.

Smell: Roasted nuts, chocolate, a tinge of alcohol, with cherry and bits of wood thrown in. Everything I expected, but a whole lot of it. And it never lets up. Down to the final sip I could still detect everything as if it was right after the pour. Brilliant.

Taste: Follows the nose closely, but doesn't pack quite the punch. This is to say, it taste great, but can't match the perfect aroma it lets off. I love the bourbon affect it gives off, but a bit more of everything else would have been perfect. Still top-notch though.

Feel: Very smooth and creamy. Medium-low carbonation, and it's very warming.

Overall: A welcome addition to my tiny bit of knowledge of imperial stouts. I was surprised to see it in my store, and glad I picked it up. Hard to say which one is my current favorite, but this was definitely at the top. Did not disappoint.
