Tre Svends Imperial was served in a 20 oz pilsner; the beer is a dark bronze with a dense and clingy tan head.

Nose of grapefruit with tangerine and malts.

The taste is pleasantly bitter but it is not a teeth shredder. Lots of grapefruit and sappy pine all backed by a big malt backbone. Seems more like a traditional IPA than an imperial, but it is tasty and balanced.

The mouth is extremely smooth and oily. Very easy drinker and would score even higher as an IPA instead of an IIPA.
