Alright, time for a drink.

Samuel Smith's Organic Cherry Fruit Ale.

A: A finger and a half or very light pink head. Nice, crystal clear plum color. Light sheeting, dotted with specks of foam (I think). Decent lacing; holds nicely. Greyish-pink in the dimple.

S: A nice, solid black cherry aroma up front. Slight malt backbone. The combination gives off the ghost of cherry pie.

T/MF: Very bright cherry hit. Slightly dry (for a generally sweet fruit beer). Maltiness is akin to slightly overcooked pie crust rim.

All in all, another nice fruit ale from Sam Smith.

Poured from a 18.7 oz. bottle, into a Belgian tulip glass.

Served in a flute.

Appearance: Light pink transparent body with medium bubbles. Head is a heavily tuned pink white head that is sort of thin, settles quick after a sip.

Smell: The scent is rich but dissipates quick. Rich cherry scent no doubt, a mellow of fruit hovering your nostrils.

Taste: It's dessert in a glass. You taste nothing but cherries and sweet Brown sugars.

Mouth: medium bodied, and sticky to the sense but let it warm up. Feels like syrup a bit.

Overall: good brew, not for everyone and one of the better fruit beers out there. Problem is that it might come off to some as a hybrid soda.

355ml bottle into a snifter glass. Paid £2.30 for a single bottle.

Pours an impressive, deep, black cherry, coloured body. When held to the light the colour turns to a glowing pinkish-red that shows up lines of tiny, fast rising carbonation bubbles streaming up from the bottom of the glass. The initial pour creates a tall, three-finger in height, pink-tinged, white foamy head that drops off disappointingly quickly and leaves a small amount of soapy lacing.

Sweet and sour cherry dominates the nose. Underneath there is a faint suggestion of beer, with slight notes of malt, yeast and a little funkiness. The taste follows suit, with a strong but not artificial, smooth, fresh cherry flavour. It is well balanced with equal measures sweet and tart, a trace of caramel malt shows through in the middle to help smooth out the sour cherry. Medium bodied with enough carbonation it has an enjoyable mouth feel and manages to avoid feeling cloying. The finish is tangy and slightly dry, with a small bite similar to a cherry-skin-like bitterness on the end.

Overall this is an excellent beer. Well balanced, easy drinking and refreshing. I look forward to trying some of the other fruit flavours in the range.

Poured into a Samuel Smith nonic pint glass.

Look: The body is a blend of dark cherry redness and brown. The head is frothy, thick, and amusingly a pinkish color. Great retention, and huge bands of thick frothy lacing.

Aroma: The amazing aroma of pure cherry juice with just a hint of malts and grains on the backside.

Taste: A perfect blend of cherry tart and sweetness. The thing is, it actually feels and tastes like you're drinking a beer -- which you are, but most brewers get this wrong when dabbling in fruits.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, absolutely perfect.

Overall: I'm not a fruit beer fan but this brewer does this style to perfection and I can't wait to try some of their other kinds.

This one tastes a lot like cherry coke with the carbonation.

I enjoy it. The cherry isn't overwhelming but there is nothing to balance it out. I mean it tastes like cherry. Very little complexity to it and its just a bit too sweet since its so cherry.
