Notes:
Handcrafted at the tiny All Saints Brewery set in a time warp in Stamford using the old manually operated brewing equipment. Finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which, having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smith’s small, independent British brewery at Tadcaster. There it is blended with pure organic raspberry fruit juice and a previously cellared organic brew - creating an unparalleled fruit ale . The smooth distinctive character of the matured beer serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

Samuel Smith’s Organic Raspberry Ale has a medium, fizzy-ish, pink head, a clear, ruby red appearance, and low-level lacing left behind. The aroma is of strong raspberry juice with bread. Pours a murky dark red with a 3 inch foamy reddish white head that settles to a small cap. Small splotches of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of rasberry jam, raspberry juice, fresh raspberries, and maybe a hint of malt. Taste is very much the same with an emphasis on very authentic raspberry flavors without being all that sweet. This beer has a nice carbonation level with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good fruit ale that showcases very nice authentic raspberry smells and flavors.

Pours a deep, rich red body, that when held to the light turns to a bright, pinkish ruby. A three-finger in height, pink-tinged, white foamy head disappears quickly leaving a small amount of soapy lacing.
Aromas of fresh, tart, cooked raspberries hit the nose as soon as the bottle is open. The taste follows suit, with a deliciously long, smooth, tangy, sweet natural raspberry flavour, followed by a tart, zingy, slightly earthy and dry finish. Light bodied with a generous amount carbonation it manages to avoid feeling cloying despite being fairly sweet.
Overall this is an excellent beer. True to the fruit, massively easy drinking and refreshing. Would recommend.

smell: FRUIT. Damn near reminds me of drinking Nestle Quik as a kid. Sugary fruit dominates everything here, and nothing else comes through. No real problem with it though, was expecting it.
taste: More of that fruit. This is alcoholic Kool-Aid. Nothing but the raspberries comes through in the tasting. Almost sour enough to remind me of a lambic.
mouthfeel: clean, small but persistent aftertaste of fruit on the tongue.
drinkability: drinkable certainly as a session beer, but a full bottle of this is almost too much, like consuming an entire box of of gummi candy by oneself. This gets marked down somewhat simply because my preference is to be able to taste the beer with the fruitiness when it comes to styles like this. I prefer more subtlety.

This is a dark red beer with an extremely pinkish head... I'm not sure whether to give high marks, or very low marks for the foam--it's kinda scary pink, like processed chicken meat. I'll go with high. The nose is dominated by raspberry, which fortunately I like. Nice flavor. Sweet, but not sticky-sweet like many fruit beers. Raspberry tartness offsets it and prevents it from being cloying. Not much else to the beer, but nothing unpleasant here. Nice, smooth mouthfeel.
Not a beer I'd drink regularly, but it's a decent fruit beer for special occasions.

Taste: Sweetish and permissibly raspberry flavored, slightly tart, and with, perhaps, a perceived underlying breadiness. Low bitterness. Slight acidity. Finishes crisp.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Stood shoulder to shoulder with it's cherry and strawberry based cousins for a tasting and, for me, it was the best of the Samuel Smith fruit bunch.

One of the very few Fruit Beers I have ever tried.
Pours out a very deep amber/ruby red with about 2 fingers of slightly pink head.
The aroma has a ton of pure raspberry along with hints of wheat and not much else.
The taste is also dominated by the raspberry taste, but it tastes like actual fruit, not filler. It's a very good balance between the sweetness coming from a raspberry and tartness as well. It's more tart than I would have assumed, but not sour. It's like drinking pure raspberry juice with some carbonation. The wheat is there, but it's very subtle
The mouthfeel is on the lighter medium side and it finishes somewhat dry.
Overall, I really enjoyed this beer, but the sweetness after awhile does sneak up on you and becomes a little cloying. Still, if you want a pure Fruit Beer then this is definitely worth checking out.

Samuel Smith has officially sold his soul to the beer devil. A fruit beer from one of the most tried-and-true breweries in the world. It's the equivelent of Harley-Davidson making tricycles.
The beer looks like soda-pop. An utterly fizzy red beer hits the glass and creates an initial, loosely knit pink head that fades with low levels of lacing or retention.
The beer smells like soda-pop. Candy raspberry flavors seem artificial. No real malt foundation to hide behind, the beer doesn't seem to exhibit what is best about beer or raspberries. No hop presence. No other complexity from esters, phenols, or anything else to attempt balance.
The beer tastes like soda-pop. Sugary sweet raspberry flavor taste as artificial as the nose smelled. Very low levels of malt fail to give any beer-y impression to the beverage. Aside from paying $6, there's nothing beer-like about it.

The taste is straight raspberry up front that then blends into breadiness, finishing clean and refreshing. This beer is very effervescent which keeps it light and goes well with the sweetness. The raspberry flavor is very natural tasting (as it should be being organic) and is never cloying. Solid fruit beer that I would drink again.

S - Lots of rich raspberry aroma.
T - There's a little bit of acid up front, tons of sweetness and a bright, rich raspberry. Finish has a bit of hoppy bitterness, that kinda oddly lingers and feels a bit medicinal. A cleaner finish would have been nicer for this particular fruit beer.
M - Somewhat smooth and not too heavy. OK carbonation.
D - Very drinkable. Very fruit-forward brew. Maybe it's more appropriate to call this a beer mix rather than a beer though. For what it is though, it's got a nice flavour. I like it.

This is a nice dark fruity lager that has a sweet taste. The color is almost like a cloudy red wine. The taste is fruity with a sweet raspberry flavor, not too strong, but still noticeable.
This would be a nice dessert beer. And with an alcohol content of 5.10%, it is one of the stronger fruit lagers. Also it is Organic if you like organic foods and drinks.
I really enjoy this and look forward to tasting their other fruit beers.
