Smell: very fruity, a lot of dark fruit. Also malty.
Taste: Maltiness, good bitterness from roasted malt, quite dry ending. Little hop presence.

Bit toffee sweet without the great feel elsewhere. Still nice.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is a dark black with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt. Has a great roasted malt flavor.

The colour is dark, dark brown; the liquid is clear. The two finger head is compact and beige – it sinks slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell is smooth, dark and malty. Muscovado sugar, prunes, cocoa, charcoal and hints of toffee and alcohol.

The taste is dry and malty with roasted malts, rolled oats and blackberry hints. Light to medium body. The aftertaste got some clean alcohol, burned charcoal, smooth bitterness plus red and black currants. The finish is balanced with dry roasted malt and some bitterness.

The carbonation is medium strong, the many mid-sized bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is somewhat smooth.

I reviewed this beer back in 2009, and I gave it 4.33. Now, I found it a bit thin and light and not as rich as then. Still a good porter.

L: gives a deep mahogny dark color. Small white head that disolves quickly giving rings of lacings on the glass.

S: Roasted malts, dried fruits like raisins and dates, coffee, chocolate, tofee, caramel and vanilla.

T&F: creamy feel from the start, senses dark dried fruits, chocolate, caramel and coffee. Dry finish with a long aftertaste and coffee especially noticeable.

O: a great porter with good flavours and aroma. I sure would trie this again if I have the chance.

Pours pitch black with a big, fluffy beige head.

Smells of milk chocolate, fudge, earth and dried raisins. Roasted hazelnuts mingle into a pleasant malt foundation, which produces a nice sweetness.

Has a soft carbonation, together with a very light, slighty metallic mouthfeel among a good amount of fluffy cream and chocolate.

Tastes of rustic bread dough, earth and toffee malts with a glazed caramel topping, soothed by cream and a metallic carbonation. Finishes with even more cream and a subtle tartness among scented wood.

Very light, creamy and chocolate driven with a strange metallic carbonation.
