This is a great example of a British pale, but more what an American may describe as a brown.

Pours dark copper with a sweet malty nose with some nut.

Flavor is similar with a hint of hopdry bitterness to clean the pallet.

Flavour really pops as it warms.

Well, that was a surprise. Chilled and it gushed.

Clearish copper colour, 2 fingers of foam with lacing.

Serious English malt nose going on. Earthy, kinda sweet and nutty. Citrus hops bring a light fruitiness.

The taste is sweet(caramel), nutty, earthy, balanced by a mild citrus hop kick.

Simple effective mouthfeel..not a full body but not that far off.

Very very drinkable.

Smell is just as one would expect, malt and nutty scent. Taste is a subdued taste of roasted nuts mostly. Mouthful has a good feel overall, light, refreshing, and leaves a light nutty aftertaste. Beer is not dry at all. This seems like a lighter version of Smith's Nutty Brown Ale to me, but is still refreshing to drink. Good Beer.

A: Copper colored with good clarity; frothy tan head with medium lacing. Very inviting.
S: Very little nose to speak of.
T: Rather bland with little evident maltiness, bitterness or flavor notes. I've had tastier light lagers.
M: Medium body, good retention of effervescence. Besides the color, mouthfeel best characteristic.
O: Rather a disappointment from Samuel Smith. Could be a flat our convenience beer.

Copper color. Aroma is nondescript, barley water. ....beer. Crisp refreshing ale with flavor. Caramel, barley, wheat, light citrus. A good beer to wash down some pizza.

What a great beer! No aftertaste , very refreshing , I imagine that that this is what beer tasted like 100 years ago in England.

Nice fruity aroma from a nice English yeast. Very nice earthy aroma from the English hops. Overall, a really pleasant beer that I always aspire to brew on my own.
