Pours a clear dark brown color with ruby highlights and a one-finger tan head. The head dissipates into a wispy layer on top leaving light lacing.

Smells of lightly roasted malts with sweet dark fruits - not the aroma I was expecting.

Tastes similar to how it smells. The roasted malt flavor seems a bit stale, and the dark fruit flavors do not mesh well.

Mouthfeel is good. I'd prefer a bit more thickness.

Drinkability is not so good. As I stated before, the flavors just don't mesh well, and one was more than enough for me.

Overall I was not a fan of this porter. I may revisit it in the future to see if it was just an off-pour.

Appearance: Near black body with reddish edges and capped by a small, off-white head.

Smell: Mild aroma of unsweetened chocolate and sweaty dark grains.

Taste: Dark malts with some hints of semi-sweet chocolate. Herbal hops. Earthy bitterness at the tailend.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel.

Drinkability: Well, I'm sold. A decent porter.

Fresh batch just tapped. The rating is of the second sample, as the first one was poured into an appropriate but soapy tasting glass.
Choclate and coffee nose. Dark brown with soapy mocha head and good lacing. Better as warmed to room temperature from the cellar. A lively carbonation. Creamy bove-average mouthfeel. A bit like an imperial porter.

Delightful porter with a clean taste and nice aftertaste. The porter is a clear dark brown color that is appetizing. The aroma matches the good taste. The beer is brewed by MDII brewery in Monroe, Wisconsin, a brewer with other good quality beers. The dark brown bottle helps preserve the quality.

Maybe I had a bad batch but this beer was nothing special. It actually had a pretty busted taste. It looked good and had a nice mouthfeel but that was about it. I would not recommend this beer but of course I would rather have this than a Budweiser. I don't know what else to say to meet my 250 character minimum. There's really nothing left to say about it.

This was a dark colored session porter that was neither roasty nor chocolate flavored. Nice medium mouthfeel that coupled well with its lightish body made it extremely drinkable. It wasn't trying to be a stout like many others in this style lately. Lots of crystal malt and just a touch of roasted/chocolate malt to turn it black but not to flavor. A type of beer you could drink all day without it becoming cloying. A solid example of the style.
