Been coming to the RB Campbell location for several years. While not in the top tier, the combination of food, beer, and service is enough for me to come back. From a beer perspective, I have had some good surprises (Wicked Elf and Prodigal Porter) and generally find a couple of beers to my liking at every visit. Fairly standard mix of styles and seasonals with good quality.

Food is typical brewery restaurant selection. Until my last visit, the food has been good across the apps, salads, and entrees. However, I had fish and chips last time, and while the fry's and fish were good, the batter on the fish was lousy.

Friendly service on average, but when they get busy, they will struggle at times with timing and checking in.

Beer was ok nothing great, food was better. They had a new IPA that I enjoyed and the vibe is always cool at these places. The one I went to in Long beach might be a step above.

I was in town for a corporate thing and ended up staying at the Pruneyard Plaza hotel. I had read reviews of this place ahead of time and based on them, was thinking I would probably skip it. Instead, when I arrived I was starving and the place didn't actually look that bad so I gave it a shot. I was glad I did.

Their beer line up was actually pretty good.. and it included a west coast style IPA, while not brilliant, was hoppy, clean and quaffable. The best part though were the prices! Every time I was in there (which was three times at varying parts of the day) pints were $3.50 and appetizers and pizza's were half off. The appetizers are enormous as well! Incredible value. On my first visit I had a good sized beer, an appetizer which was so big I could barely finish and my bill including tip was $10!

Staff were good and the place was getting a lot of business while I was there. There's a decent patio area outside, the inside includes a bar as well as table seating.

Recommended if you are in the area.

This place seems to be straight out of the corporate chain mold. Even the floorplan is similar to another nearby place (BJ's in San Jose). Lets see how it sizes up :

- standard selection on tap : light, amber, dark and a few others
- coordinated corporate like logos for each beer drawn by a graphic artist and frozen in the retro 1990s woodcut look
- standard pub fare
- grain silo placed out front but no-where near where a brewer would want it

I think that the emphasis here is mega family friendly sportsbar pseudo brewpub. The beers are OK but not noteworthy.

A fine place to grab a pint if you're already at the Pruneyard shopping center though not worth making a special trip.

I've been to this brew pub several times over the past few years and generally it hasn't been much of an attraction to me because of a fairly generic brew pub look and overloads of people, generally young and noisy. Then again, there aren't all that many options in this area. This visit (June 4) my experience was notably better. We chose to sit outside in the rather large sidewalk cafe setting which offers music and even a television at one end while you watch the traffic and an occasional passer by. Four of us had dinner and I think each of us was pleased. Despite the crowd on a Thursday evening, the service was reasonably prompt. The waiter confirmed that they sometimes have cask ales available but he wasn't sure that night, had to check, but it was not to be. I didn't sense much beer knowledge with the waiter but the nice surprise was that the food was very decent. I had salmon but others had steak, burgers and such, and it all was fine. At the same time I thought the two beers I had, the Raccoon Red and the Boulder Creek Pale Ale, were also pretty good. So I went inside with my friends for a couple more brews. The Faller Wheat was good and the Kolsch was OK. A fellow that appeared to be the manager approached me to make some friendly beer banter, otherwise, the service was generally rather hurried and impersonal, but it was prompt considering the big crowd. The place still doesn't have the greatest appeal to me with it's big hall crowded with tables and bodies. Where we sat in the bar area it was very difficult to move with many stools being directly back to back. This place is obviously a popular stop for the genral drinking public but it doesn't seem to be particularly oriented to the true beer lover. Then again I will say that the beer selection and quality was a bit better than I last recall, and adequate. I would like to see more exotic and heavier brews here and maybe I'll get to try one of their cask attempts in the future. I will definitely try them more often in the future.

I dragged my wine loving significant other into this establishment recently. She's actually a hop head in disguise so she went in quietly, and dare I say, eagerly

This is more corporate than your average brew pub, and located in an outdoor mall on the Campbell - San Jose border. The interior is sort of your basic TGI Friday's interior, with plenty of the Rock Bottom beer logos and a few TV's. As for the beers, they are on par with good macros of the style. Not that that's a bad thing, but they really didn't blow me away. That night they had a special Imperial Racoon Red available that was interesting.

The menu is a little creative for a corporate brew pub like this, and the salmon cake special they had the night we were there had a nice spicy zip to it. As far as the food goes, it's pretty solid and creative, more so than the beer I tried.

Our server was energetic, quite helpful, and made good beer pairing suggestions. I've been to plenty of brew pubs where the server knew a lot less.

So it's a corporate brew pub with solid food, good service, and decent beer. I'm not going to rave about it, but I will be back.

I had to drive over the hill from Santa Cruz and stopped off here for the first time. I have to admit I haven't been impressed with Rock Bottom, I have visited at least ten to date, and this one is no different except it seems more like an upscale sports bar than most of the others I have visited.

Located in a very upscale shopping mall in Campbell and somewhat hard to find. Walking in the bar is to the left and ahead the dinning area. I just had time to try the sampler:
Pale Ale
and Steam "Common" Beer

I sat at the bar which had to be the most upscale of all Rock Bottoms I have visited. Service was prompt and good-no complaints.

I was tempted by the price of a growler (less than $10) but as with other Rock Bottoms I found their beer to be average and pretty much unoffensive.

I didn't try the food-however, I am sure it is as good as the other locations-always liked the food.

$6 for a sampler-nice deal. I would stop off here with my wife-but I would prefer to head over to Sonoma Chicken Coop-

Well, let's see....this will be the 9th Rock Bottom I have been to. Not much different to tell you about this one except it is in yuppy land. The review below said it correctly, this place is a little more yuppy than the others.

The place looks like the cookie cutter Rock Bottom style. The bar area is nice and big, everything is wood and has the appropriate Rock Bottom beer signage to it.

The great thing about Rock Bottom is the consistency in their beer, service and food. I always order the fish tacos and usually end up getting a brown ale, red ale or the seasonal. Whatever strikes my fancy that night. It's a great place to go with newbie beer drinkers and non-beer drinkers because it suits all types.

The service is always good and I would go back if I were in the area hanging around with a group of people. If I were one my own, I might go to a more "local" location due to the "beer family" feel that one might find.

The bar area is kind of yuppy-ish and appeared to be spacious or roomy. Fairly new TV's all around. Different settings for dining including a patio area out front. Located in a plaza.

Wooden tables, chairs, booths, and bar with paraphenalia mostly Rock Bottom all around. Restrooms are clean. The kitchen is open and viewable from the east side dining area. They had what appeared to be black plastic tap nozzles all around.

Service is prompt and informative.

The beer is served too cold for my liking and they do have a couple of cask that were empty. I asked the bartender how often they refill the cask and he replied about once a month. Notable would be the Pale and the seasonal Kent's(?) Wheat also their Kolsh was allright.

There is a flaming grill and nice fireplace oven. There are some healthy options on the menu.

Reasonable for the offering.
