22oz bottle. Clear light brown hue (cloudy at the bottle base). A surprisingly good mix of hops, hazelnut and coffee. Medium + body and carbonation. One of the series' best.

Hoppy hazelnut smell. Pours a nice golden amber color. Very nice combination of hops and coffee for flavor. Easy drinking and is basically what it says it is. Very interesting and very good.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of roasted coffee, hazelnut, cocoa, light vanilla, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of hazelnut coffee, citrus/pine hops, and moderate malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big roasted coffee, hazelnut, cocoa, light vanilla, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/roasted earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, hazelnut, cocoa, light vanilla, grapefruit, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice robustness, complexity, and balance of hazelnut coffee, citrus/pine hops, and moderate malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very nice coffee IPA. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of hazelnut coffee, citrus/pine hops, and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

64 ounce growler
Served in a tulip glass
A - This beer pours a deep amber color with yellow/orange highlights. An aggressive pour yielded several inches of off-white, almost beige, head with some light lacing.
S - The smell is hazelnut coffee. I get some citrus as well, but the coffee dominates for the most part.
T - The taste starts out innocent with a little caramel malt. Then when you would expect the citrus to come through hazelnut and coffee taste fill my palate. It finishes with a bitter hops and coffee taste. The aftertaste is coffee.
M - Moderate
O - I discovered this beer in Detroit and have waited seven months to visit the brewery to try this beer again. I think this beer is fantastic. It is my favorite coffee IPA by miles. I enjoy it greatly and will probably get a growler each year on my annual visit to see my grandfather.
