Poured from bottle to tulip. Pitch black in color, with several fingers of fluffy, mocha head consisting of large bubbles. Foam recedes to a thin cap, leaving plenty of sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet: usually I expect bittersweet cocoa, here I get milk chocolate and gooey caramel, dusted with cinnamon. There is a roasted coffee flavor, however, along with sweet milk, cocoa, cinnamon and vanilla. Not exactly tiramisu, but a damn fine stout nonetheless. First of five brews from Hideout I've picked up; officially looking forward tot he rest.

Date August 3, 2015, Batch 2. Pours black with a 2 inch beige head. Smell of cinnamon, chocolate, acidic coffee, vanilla, and a bit of a metallic. Taste is much the same with a good amount of cinnamon, coffee, chocolate, and some roasted malt in the background. Honestly I only had a little bit of vanilla in the flavor, it seems the foamy head has some vanilla to it but when you reach the body if fades out. It has a moderate to light body with a moderate mouth feel. Overall this stout has a lot going on but it is too light to accommodate the flavors and it really doesn't taste like tiramisu at all, though it isn't terrible.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, vanilla, cinnamon, light plum/apple, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, vanilla, cinnamon, light plum/apple, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, vanilla, cinnamon, light plum/apple, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and robustness of dark/roast/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; with a great bitterness/sweetness/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is is a damn nice spiced English stout style. All around great complexity, robustness, and, balance of dark/roast/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
