Beer is served on draft at Franklin's. Its amber and clear with decent carbonation and a tight off white head that leaves some lacing on the glass. Looks really good.

The aroma is mildly malty and hoppy. The primary aroma is piny hops. Smells good for a dipa.

Beer is pretty bitter but not overly so. Its not malty or sweet in the forward, medium body and not chewy. Probably could get away with a more ambitious hop profile but it is decent.

On tap at Franklin's today. I got to try a growler of this thanks to Mike earlier, and wanted to revisit.

Pouring copper-amber with a dense off-white head with good retention and lacing, this is one good looking DIPA. The nose is just excellent. Despite a moderate malt presence, this is still all about the hops, with a blend of tropical fruit, plenty of floral hop character as well as some candied orange. Malt character is present as a blend of caramel and honey, both of which are low enough to work with the candied orange character. The nose does belie the fact that this is a hoppy beast, and the palate does confirm this. Opening with a rather massive bitterness, this is moderately resiny, coating the palate with hop oils. Despite the huge bitterness, the flavor can't be tamed, with plenty of tropical fruit (some mango and a little papaya), bright floral characteristics and some citrus. The malt and the citrus do play well off each other, resulting in a juicy if moderately sweet DIPA. Initially over-carbonated, this beer is medium in body and has a rather hugely bitter finish. Enjoyable, I drank my pint and had no complaints, and if available regularly, I will drink it again.
