Pours a finger of head on a dark brown body.
The aroma is mild dark grain.
The taste is soft grain, mild bitterness with a caramel finish.
The texture is soft with light fizz.
It's enjoyable.

No idea why so many Baltimore brewers are doing dark milds right now, but I sure do support it.
Pours dark redd with a small head.
Smells like straight two row British malt. Toffee, fruit, and chocolate.
Tastes like it smells. Fruit and toffee up front, biscuity middle, then some medium tangy old world hops in the finish.

On-tap at Pratt Street Alehouse, and the more alcoholic of the two beers I had (ironic considering this hits 4% ABV). On to the beer:
This mild is chestnut brown colored and topped just a little head. Not much retention here. The aroma is very light; you need to concentrate to find any notes. You do get some pleasant toast, but even that takes some work for your nose to find. The taste yields more goodies however. It's light, and has a cola-like flavor. Brown sugar, toasted caramel, a kiss of soft nutty yeast. There is some meat on this light ale's bones, and it feel lean inside the mouth. Concerning me, this is a fine mild.

On cask at Rustico - Arlington. Served in a nonic-pint glass. I really like English-style beers on cask, so may rating probably reflects this bias - 4
A - Pours a clear ruby brown with fluffy light tan head (characteristic of a cask beer), no lacing. - 3.75
S - Slight sweetness - 3.5
T - Malt, molasses, brown bread. - 4
MF - Medium body, slightly dry. - 3.5

Draft, at the Columbia Ale House, Columbia, poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Pours a beautiful, almost completely opaque, deep, dark mahogany color, with a half of a finger of white-colored head that dissolved into a lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.
Aroma: Not much in the aroma department at all, which is disappointing. In fact, I get no aroma what-so-ever. Really disappointing.
Taste: This beer is light on flavor too. There are some faint flavors of toasted malt, brown sugar-like sweetness and some piney, slightly bitter hops, but nothing really assertive. Actually all these flavors sort of muddle together in a very muted way to make a one-note, inoffensive flavor. Disappointing to say the least.
Mouthfeel: Medium/medium-light, and slightly effervescent. With an ABV of 4.0%, there is no alcohol on the palate.
Overall: I’m disappointed in this beer. Almost all of the other Oliver Ales beers I’ve had have been seriously strong in flavor, whereas, this beer is muted and muddled, one-note and forgettable. It’s an easy to drink beer, but it’s also an extremely forgettable beer. Shame.

An example of the all too rare style of the dark Mild. Pleasant sudsy pour in the pint glass, with brownish amber color. Cellar temperature.
A rustic beery gulp with a nice whiff of hoppy fragrance. Not very bitter. Dry yet mellow. Very lifelike imitation of an English Mild, except for missing the occasional hop bits floating. A pleasant roasted taste, light body. Very decent amount of flavor for the lower alcohol and less malty style. Some bitterness in the aftertaste adds a bit of zing.
ABV is listed at 4%. On cask at Paradiso Pizza in Georgetown, DC.
