I had the cask ale version on premises, this was fabulous, creamy and rich with well balanced but present malt. Took home a growler of the same from the draught tap, still good but just not the same.

Pours a half finger of head on a clear dirty straw body.
The aroma is mildly floral with honey.
The taste is solid malt (caramel and honey) with a dry bitterness.
The texture is smooth.
Enjoyable.

Pretty nice pale ale, very well executed. Nothing that will really blow you away, but it is very fresh and hits all the right notes.

On cask at Meridian Pint, Washington, D.C.:

The beer appeared a deep, clear, amber color that produced a nice white, foamy head. Pretty much what you would expect from a cask beer. The beer gave off a nice malty and yeasty aroma that was followed up with a nice, deep and rich malty, bready and biscuit malt flavor. The beer had a full body feel to it (but not stout like), good carbonation and it was very easy to drink. Overall, a fine beer.

Draft, at the Columbia Ale House, Columbia, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a pretty, clear, deep, golden copper color with a quarter of a finger of white-colored head that quickly dissolved into a thin lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Not much in the way of aromas at all, but I get some very faint notes of toasted malt, caramel and a touch of piney hops, but not a lot of any of these aromas. Disappointing.

Taste: What this beer lacks in aroma, it more than makes up for in delicious flavors! There are strong notes of bready, toasted malt up front, imparting flavors of English muffins, biscuits, and whole-wheat crackers, followed by some good caramel-like sweetness, spices of black pepper, a touch of cumin and coriander. Finally, the beer finishes with some nicely balanced, floral, piney, slightly bitter hops.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, crisp, and very effervescent, as there is a lot of carbonation. With an ABV of 6.2%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a very nice beer, with strong bready, malty flavors blended with some sweetness, a touch of spice and slightly bitter hops. I’d certainly get it again.

Had this at Pratt st Ale house down in Baltimore.
A rather ordinary beer. Light in color, too light for a pale, and a small white head.
Aroma was bland and mostly malts. It took some real effort to detect any hops.
Taste was actually pretty good but it was thin and watery.
I am disappointed with this one.
