Very Good
Notes: Blond beer 100% fermented and aged in oak barrels with Brettanomyces yeast. This dry beer has aromas of ripe mango and passion fruit with funky farmhouse accents. Its finish has subtle notes of oak balanced by hoppy bitterness and a touch of acidity.

Bottle: Poured a clear yellow color ale with a medium size white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of tart and brett notes with some light oak notes. Taste is also a mix of brett and oak notes with clear tart notes and funky yeasty notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Very well balanced example of the style with good mxi of complexity and drinkability.

Way more brett forward than Orval, not too acidic. Lots of tropical fruit in the aroma, but more leathery in flavour. Crisp, dry finish, but not overly dry.

Thanks Papat444!

First batch purchased directly at the brewery.

A real gusher right from the start so careful!
Banana orange colored body, very funky and tasty for sure.

12 oz. bottle. Hazy pale orange with a small white head. Smells bretty with a little bit of banana and some pineapple. Light malt. Taste is dominated by brett. Earthy brett up front. Has just a bit of tang behind it. High carbonation. Medium body. Not bad.

341ml bottle from some hoser a few days back (from notes)

A bastard caught me off guard and gushed all over the place, once it settled it had a big head that retained well leaving a single ring with some random lace below

S candied pineapple, some spice, orange peel, a fair amount of brett, bottles over a year old but I’m still picking up on some leafy hops, a little dry cereal and wet wood round things out

T spicy, yeasty, maybe some apple and pear, not all that far from the nose

M medium bodied, creams up, very gritty, just a hint of booze with a spicy finish

O it’s a solid Belgian blond with plenty of brett, everything works well together and its pretty easy to drink

DDC just keeps pumping out new and interesting stuff and I’m lucky to have hoser around to keep me up to date, cheers Mike

Hazy golden/yellow color with an immense head with huge foamy bubbles. Smell of wild yeast, really funky and acid. But it's also really fruity in the nose, mostly apples and some bananas and oranges, it smells wonderful, can't wait to try it. Definitely tastes like what it smells, you really get the apples in the mouth. The Brett yeast are a little more subtle than expected but the acidic side of the beer really attacks the tongue, it feels like I ate the most sour of green Sour Patch Kids.

Pours an hay color with an orange hue, a tall white billowy head with good retention and lacing. The nose is big Brett with some nice spice, orange peel, yeast, citrus. The taste also is Brett forward, black pepper, tart oranges, lemon zest, musty, leather/oaky. Medium-light body with big carbonation. This just a really tasty beer with notes in the base Belgian IPA beer, but also nice barrel and Brett notes.

Thanks to Papat444 for this bottle! Bottled July 17, 2014. Lot 1.

The nose is Brett-focused. Tart cherry and funk. Quite inviting. Flavour is similar - a very dry finish with a cherry/medicinal Brett flavour. A bit of light fruit, probably from hops. Funk fairly present. Quite carbonated.

This is very much a Brett-focused beer. It rather takes over the rest of the beer. I am a big Brett fan, and like this beer a lot. It's a good platform for the unique flavours Brett offers. My guess is that this is not going to be a regularly occurring beer from DDC, but I hope I am wrong. If it was regularly available, I would be purchasing it often.

From notes

Appearance: It has a nice hazy golden/yellow color to it. It has a nice thick white head that dies down very slowly and leaves lovely lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of Brett, floral undertones, oranges, apples, light wood and faint malts.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has some Brett funk upfront, floral undertones, some oranges and apples, light wood and faint grains.

Mouthfeel: It has a med-high carbonation with a very nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas. Another solid beer from Dieu cu ciel!

a gorgeous label on this one, different than what is pictured below here, and my stoke remains high that some beers from these guys continue to trickle into colorado. i have to confess though, this was a less than ideal experience, on me, not the beer, i dropped the bottle off a shelf and the cap popped and about half of it gushed out, i was able to save and enjoy the rest of it, but if this was clear except a sediment layer on the bottom, i certainly stirred that back into the drink in the process. either way, it was a hazy and heady blonde in my experience, the brett in the bottle going fully wild here i reckon, its funky as can be in the nose, a little bacterial and lactic and stinky too, but with things like guava and passion fruit and chardonnay all over it, and plenty of oak as well, this was likely done in wine barrels, although i have no way to confirm that. its tannic and bright in that way. the brett is weird here, not as defined and refined as i expect from these guys, and a very different profile than i have had in any of their other beers to date. i know a lot of this is on the shakeup too, ill buy another bottle to compare. i still find it really complex, and its quite lively as well, but the fermentation profile and the bottle conditioning seem just a bit off to me. cool lightness from all the fruit accents, and a unique expression of the brett. i love these guys, will buy them anytime i can find them! they do so much, all so well, really impressive!

Great dusty nose. Taste is good if a touch soapy, but decent. Ample carbonation.
