Thanks to papat444 for this oddity. A double wit with cloves and cinnamon. Served in a tulip at Tom's place.
A - Adequate white foam settles to a partial cap, thin collar, and a few specks of lace. Murky orange-yellow body that is typical of witbiers.
S - Better than I anticipated, with the clove and cinnamon being tastefully integrated. Notes of wheat, vanilla, banana and stone fruits round things out, and while the yeast is clearly Belgian it's not overly phenolic. No alcohol either, which is a plus.
T - Taste is fairly similar, with sugary malts, banana, and other fruits dominating the palate, and cinnamon and clove kicking in a bit of offsetting spice to keep things from getting cloying. Again, not overly yeast or boozy.
M - Grainy texture that is mildly gritty at times - lots of chaff in here? Lower carbonation, medium body, and a bit juicy in the finish. Not much alcohol warmth.
D - I was expecting to hate this based on the description, but it was actually pretty good. Tom and I finished the 355ml bottle easily and I'd actually consider ordering this again if I saw it on-tap somewhere.

Golden wheat beer with strong flavors of cinnamon and cloves. If you enjoy those spices, it is worth a try. I would buy again, but not on a regular basis. Good winter beer!

★★★★½
Bravo!

Serving: Bottle
Bottled: Nov-5 -2019 (Consumed Jan-4-2020)
Pours hazy orange with a short-lived two fingers of head. Settles to a ring, no lacing. Aroma features bright orange peel, clove, cardamom forward nose. Cardamom (assuming I'm right about the spice, otherwise it comes from something else) to the point I'm hungry for ham! It tastes wheaty but with a rich warming alcohol, sweet dough, clove, wheat tartness. It is spicier tasting and fruitier smelling. Fairly easy drinking for the size with moderate carbonation and well hidden alcohol. A nice big "imperial" wit. Exactly as advertised (though they are classy enough to not throw around imperial like I just did).
An enjoyable, textbook wit character to start with and then shot full of steroids. It is not something I'd drink everyday, but I have to say the overall profile is uniformly amplified enough that it reminded my jaded palate of what drew me to wheat beers so strongly when I first started getting into beer.

these guys are definitely one of my favorite breweries, and i always get stoked when i find beers from them i have not had before. lucky enough to source this one on tap, its an imperial wit type with spices and a little more assertive wheat and yeast profile than is customary in the style, a really well made and even daring beer, nicely pulled off. lightly hazy from the tap, the bubbly white head fading quickly, and a cool nose of strong wit type yeast esters and cloves, fresh ground. i immediately get white and black pepper with the clove in the taste, a little mulling spice as well, and a warming rather than refreshing complexion overall, not what i am used to at all in the style, but a really cool twist here. the yeast is sturdy too on top of all the wheat malt, esters of pear and orange, with a little gummy bear candy sort of thing as well, a white sugar sweetness, bread crusts, and clover honey. lots going on here, but its never boozy as strong as it is, and there is nice balance here in its boldness. i wish for a little more effervescence in the feel to really make it sing, but the flavors cultivated here are excellent, and this stands out as distinct in this style to me. another inventive and well executed beer by these guys! a wit for the autumn to me...

Pours amber with a fading head.
Nose shows cinnamon, cloves, candied orange, soft wheat. Very strong spices.
Loads more spices as flavours, close to overpowering. Some soft malt in there.

Pours a cloudy golden colour with a white head that dissipates quickly
Smells of clove.....bready odours......orange.....
Strong....bitterness.....spiciness.....yeast flavours. Not getting the orangey flavours on the tongue. Slight alcohol burn near the end of the mouthful.
Mouthfeel is thicker but It is a higher abv.
Overall a delicious beer. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Smell of yeasts and spices.
In mouth, cloves take a lot of place but cinnamon brings a sweet taste.
I'm impressed

hazed bright orange colour, ring of white head with not much lace here. Nose is spicy, lots of clove, orange and lightly tart yeast, fruity. Taste is spicy and yeasty cinnamon and cloves, what I would describe as winterspice, a bit yeasty, everything in good balance, quite tasty. Medium carbonation, medium body. Nice stuff here, not my favorite style but this one I like, ABV well hidden, quite drinkable.
