Very Good
Notes: Brewed in cooperation with the restaurant Toqué due to their interest in Québec terroir. A tart saison brewed with sea buckthorn berries.

Capped: Deep hazy dark straw color with a weak 2 finger head that last around 2 minutes. Not much swirl reaction nor much leggings. Flavors of stone fruits (mostly buckthorn berries), malted barley, oatmeal, wild yeast, honey, and floral hops. Slick oily body medium body with crispy carbonation. Medium to strong strength finish, quite sour and funky, mostly a straw feel, light flowery hops and barnyard effect. A bit spicey and salivating, citrusy and lemony. Impressive fruit quality, all nicely balanced but a bit overly acidic for my palate, so that makes the freshness okay. Cross Saison and Wild ale, probably more wild here. Overall the quality is high.

Pours a glowing brass color with a big sea-foam head that airly dissipates, leaving nothing but a thin ring and a little lace. (3.5)

Light tartness, minerals, dough, ocean breeze (good and bad way). (3.75)

Dry tartness with some earthy notes underneath, light malt, and a half-astringent-half-herbal bite at the end. (3.75)

Tart, dry, light body, bright carbonation, slightly astringent finish. (3.75)

This is an interesting one.
It isn't the best looking beer. The aroma and flavor are both a unique mix of tartness and a earthy, almost-salty/herbal component which I assume comes from the berries. It is fairly easy drinking. I don't know that I would enthusiastically have this again, but it was not bad. Also, I could see it going very well with some foods (which I assume is why it was brewed for/with Toqué).
All right. (3.75)

I'm happy to see that other people got the sea-breeze thing and that it wasn't me imagining things.

Bottle: Poured a super light yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light tart notes with some buckthorn and dry lemon notes. Taste is mostly dominated by lemony notes with some tart notes and light dry buckthorn notes also noticeable. Body is light with good carbonation. The beer is very delicate with lots of subtle flavours.

A: hazy bright yellow, with but a scant and quickly receding head
S: a bit lemony with some mild phenols and, as named, almost a salty sea breeze aroma that is somewhat reminiscent of a lightly tart gose.
T: there is a mild bread quality up front before a mild to moderate lemon tart, and fairly dry finish.
M: a slight bit oily, but well carbonated and light bodied for refreshing easy drinking.
O: this should come out in the summer, as this is a stellar post-lawn cutting brew!

Light straw color, really hazy, with lots of carbonation and a big head that disappear really fast. Acidic/sour in the nose, herbal also and I get some fruity hops too, especially a lemon smell. Really refreshing, almost like a lemonade, you get also some acidic flavors, and salty flavor also, almost like sea salt. It's really fizzy in the mouth which gives it a nice feel.

Pours a bright hay color with an orange hue with one finger of fizzy with head without much retention and no lacing. The nose is musty, herbal, yeasty with some dry citrus. The taste is also quite herbal, tart, lemon, other citrus, white pepper. It has medium-light body, is smooth and easy drinking, and has lively carbonation. An odd beer, but the more I drink it, the more I like it.

Bottled January 19, 2016.

Pours a hazy dark lemonade color. Has a tinge of sourness with sea salt, lime and lemons. Bordering on gose territory here with a lively and refreshing body. Very well done indeed and hope to see more of this.
