~ Bottle courtesy of Eric at Big Z Beverage in Huntington, NY. Pours a hazy yellow color with a big white foamy head. A dominant wheat aroma is followed by hints of orange, lemon, and pepper. Taste matches its smell. This Belgian White was refreshing and a pleasure to drink. ~

Pour a hazy straw colour with a faint white ring.
Smells of Belgian ale ( wheat and some sweetness) with citrus notes.
Lemon peel, citrus and orange some bitterness and some acidity.
I feel this beer works well if you just go for it. Otherwise the various flavors seem unbalanced.
A nice thirst quencher in hot weather.

Im a fan of this breweries labels they always catch my eye and this one pours a hazy pale yellow hue which leaves a creamy two finger head that settles down to a nice one layer of froth and sporadic lacing, the smell is wheat, cardomon, fennel, biltong and yeasty bread,it has a light bodied mouthfeel and has tastes of lemon, wheat, belgian bready yeast, fennel, corriander and finished with a lemon/lime wheat tartness and overall its alright but definately would be alot better in summer cheers.

Pours a murky light yellow-orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, wheat, yeast, spice, and citrus aromas. Taste is much the same with spice and citrus flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that has a fairly intense spice presence in the flavor for the style.

341ml bottle poured into a 16oz tulip.

A - Frothy, bone-white head off the pour, average size. Medium amber-straw with lots of cloudy haze. No real head retention, and no lacing.

S - Big banana, yeast, and coriander. Funky barnyard hay, wheat and some spicy citrus. Not a huge fan of it, but we'll see where it goes.

T - Starts off with a nice yeast presence with wheat and subtle citrusy coriander, which gives way to a strong banana flavor, that quickly sinks into an abyss of messy spices and dry, herbal hops in the finish. It's certainly a different take on the typical witbier style, with less citrus and fruitiness, and more dry spices and hops. I can't say I'm a fan of this experiment though. Very slight touch of phenols in the finish as well, with some pepper and lingering bitterness. There's also a honey character that reminds me of the Païenne from earlier tonight.

M - Prickly carbonation, with a medium-to-light body. Sort of syrupy, and not very smooth. The oats don't do much to smooth this one out either.

D - While this is still a solid beer, it's not one I really care for. I like my witbiers light, citrusy and refreshing; and this ale didn't really deliver that sort of profile. Out of context of the style I might like it a bit more, but taking style into consideration hurts this one a bit for me. Like I said, it's a good beer, but not really for me.

Refreshing crisp wheat beer. Modest fruit in taste though bubblegum fruit aroma. Too carbonated fizzy. Light texture. Bit of lemon and corriander (a natural male birth control) spice. Would not have worked with too much spice. Cloudy light yellow appearance.

A - I did a hard pour that produced perhaps 1/3 of a finger of head. This quickly dissipated into non-existence, a few bubbles on the surface. No lacing of course, quite a simple appearance from that viewpoint. Looks quite radiant when held to light, bright yellow.

S - The smell is actually surprising. I was expecting a fairly average smell and was surprised to find that the spices were very apparent and pleasant. Citrus, too many spices to note that blend together nicely (though coriander seems to be the primary), and of course wheat are all the predominant smells.

T - Same as the smell. Orange and grapefruit, pretty deep spices, traces of other fruits and even a flowery taste. The aftertaste is quite sweet, too sweet for my liking. Green apples, sweet citrus and the remnants of the spices stick with you for a long time.

M/D - Carbonation is quite low, the mouthfeel is light but still smooth enough to feel good. Has an acidic edge to it. Drinkability is average. It is smooth and goes down fine, but I wouldn't want more than 1 of these.

For the style it is commendable. But I wasn't a huge fan of the flavour. I didn't mind having one, but I wouldn't go for another. Probably won't repurchase. I was lenient on the rating since I like it more than other wheat beers that I have tried and appreciate what DDC has done.

Slightly hazy golden color with a thin head with short retention.
Aroma with notes of orange peel, lots of white bread, coriander and a citrusy tartness.
Fun flavor with refreshing notes of coriander, fresh oranges, yeast, white pepper, ginger, some banana and bubblegum, pineapple juice and just a bit of lactic acid. Dry and slightly acid aftertaste.
Light to medium body with appropriate carbonation.
Enjoyable Witbier. This is not a shallow Wit, this is smelly and flavorful. It goes deeper in its citrusy and spicy notes.

Love to try new beers from them, even if not my fav style. It should work well for a super hot humid day like today though. Not sure how to read the date, it has a 5 and a 3 notched... May 3rd? May 2013? what?!

Ug, they're still using screw tops?! Pours a smaller but decent fizzy bubbly 1/2 finger head that fades at a fair pace, bit of bubbles streaming up through mostly clear golden yellow orange tinted beer.

Nose brings wheat and a big perfumey coriander and spice, very creamy wheat, little toasted note, grainy wheat like, but a light sweet malty creamy thing, with big perfumey coriander, and I really mean like floral spices, flowery like almost but not really chamomile like flower, bit of an orange zest note,.

Taste starts with a touch of sweetness actually, into malts, grainy toasted wheat actually, with some straw notes, little bready note, plenty of creamy wheat, almost creamed wheat like flavor, etc. Then spices again, big coriander, it actually ends up being the dominant flavor, with mild orange zest, like a clementine peel rather than real orange, and mild flowery notes again. It dries quite quickly, like a lactose kinda dry, with mild citrus zest and coriander lingering again, little creamy wheat taste too.

Mouth is lighter bod, decent carb but probably could have used a bit more, if it didn't already escape out the damn screw top!

Overall not bad, not usually a huge fan of the style, but a nice wit can do well in the summer. I liked the wheat aspect actually, little creamy, touch toasty like, etc, and flowery notes, the clementine like citrus was also nice, and coriander can be good when not too strong, although this came on way too strong IMO. Still not bad for a hot summer day.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a yellow color and a hazy texture. There was an inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Good lacing.

S: A typically sweet aroma of fruit, spices, and malt.

T: Tasted of coriander, light fruit (lemon, orange), and a bit of malt. A solid enough flavor, but not nearly aggressive enough. Could have been slightly more powerful.

M: A well-carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Light-bodied.

O: While this is a drinkable beer, there are better examples of witbiers out there. Still, worth a shot.
