Style: Berliner Weissbier

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.90%

Availability: Summer

Notes / Commercial Description:
German inspired sour wheat beer. The obvious and domineering acidity of this beer is obtained by letting the unboiled wort go sour for several days. The Solstice d’Été is made complete by the addition, during the fermentation process, of a phenomenal quantity of whole fruit (raspberries or mangos or cherries) which compensate for the sourness of the beer. The result is a very refreshing beer where both acidity and fruity flavours dominate wholeheartedly.

Serious colour, not much head, but pretty.

Huge raspberry aroma, definitely some sourness too.

It's fairly sour, but works extremely well with the raspberries.

Light to moderate body has a bit of acidity.

Great balance and flavour... It's really about the raspberries, but the beer supports, and even enhances them.

Huge thanks to mTomlins for both this and the cherry!

This one is surprisingly tart and a little acidic. Since it’s a sour wheat beer, I expected the sourness to be toned down, but I was wrong. haha. Luckily I really like sour, but I bet this one will upset the stomachs of a few people who aren’t expecting the Shock Tart quality.

341ml.

Very bright red with a quickly dissipating head. Strong natural raspberry aromas. Very strong ripe natural raspberry flavours. Crisp, effervescent and dry, if a little thin. Enjoyable.
