This black ale has an intense roasted aroma with a hint of chocolate. To taste, it has a nice hoppy bitterness and roasted coffee flavours. It is a dry beer, presenting little sweetness. Its colour may intimidate, but it is an easy drinking beer as long as one enjoys roasted flavours. This beer is pressurized with nitrogen, therefore giving it little effervescence but a compact and durable head.

Poured on-tap and served in a true pint, the beer is almost black, with a creamy, dense, solid, light-brown head that goes nowhere while you drink. There is a cling to the head that maps where you drink from. Aromas are creamy, roasted, with a toffee and chocolate sweet backbone. Light, dry bodied carrying flavors that are roasted coffee, sweet cream, and a subtle nut sweetness. The aftertaste is roasty and sweet, both subtle and balanced at the same time. Very smooth throughout, with a creamy finish. Way too easy to drink!

Pours pitch black with a beautiful brown cascading effect that leaves a perfect two fingers of mocha head in its wake (4.25). Aromas of roast grains, coffee and minerals (4). The flavors are along the same lines with light-medium roast, toasted coffee beans, some chocolate and slight earthy hops (4.25). Soft carbonation (on nitro), substantial-but-light, very drinkable (4). Would definitely have this one again (4.25).

The most perfect Stout I've ever drank.
Gorgeous, head like the cream on a good espresso.
Tastes like a velvety chocolate caress with a black glove in the mouth. Coffee and chocolate in perfect balance. No acrid or over roasted flavors
Mouthfeel is perfect, no wateriness. Not thirst quenching at all.
Served just below room temperature and almost flat: perfect
