Was there last week while in Montreal on business. I walked from the Hilton Bonaventure, it took 45-50 min walking at a good pace, you would need to be used to walking a fair bit otherwise I would recommend taking a cab or the subway from downtown. I walked up St. Laurent which had the sidewalks torn up for the first number of blocks. One of the shops along the way was having a "no sidewalk sale", cute.

The atmosphere once inside Dieu Du Ciel is pretty much as others have described, relatively small, dimly lit but not too dark that you couldn't read a book or newspaper, with the bar at the back and the fermentation tanks on one side behind glass. Behind the bar were lots of empty bottles from all over the world, everything from Rogue to Rochefort.

I sat at the bar and ordered a Peche Mortel which was outstanding. Also had the cheese plate which included a small loaf of bread that the guy behind the bar heated up in a toaster over, 5 different cheeses, nuts, dried fruit and olives. The cheese plate complemented the beer nicely and I very much enjoyed my private beer and cheese tasting.

Service was good, the 2 guys working there both spoke primarily French but had no trouble understanding my English. I was there on a Tuesday night and the place was about half full. Prices were quite reasonable with a glass of Peche at $4.50. My only complaint is I didn't get a chance to try any of the other beers as I had a 2nd Peche Mortel that was enough for me for the night.

I very much look forward to returning on my next visit to Montreal and sampling a greater variety of their brews. Highly recommended!

Reminds me a bit of a European cafe; very chill vibe. Good selection and some cool stuff you can't find in the US on tap. Didn't eat the food but looked good, beers were great. The place to go when in Montreal.

Along with Vices & Versa (which is just a 20 minute walk away) and Station HO.ST, le Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel (brewery of the sky god) is one of my favorite places in Montréal. I could skip the other two, but any trip to Montréal for me requires a visit.

The beer cannot be argued with (look at the reviews!), and it's on tap (although they do offer some bottles). And they offer food, which can be rare. It's just smaller plate stuff (sandwiches, pizzas, and snacks), and slightly pricey, but it's good and I think it's worth it for the quality. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is great - it's kind of like a small English-style pub, but with a very Canadian vibe. And it's great to sit out on the street, or in a window on the street, and just relax with a beer and watch traffic go by. (Ha ha suckers!!! You could be here but you're not!)

I haven't given them a good enough review here, what I've written isn't worthy, and I'll need to return to this and update it - hopefully after my next visit - but for now you've got a sense of my passion for the place, don't let it go to waste.

Highlight of our Montreal trip. A dozen taps and one cask including Peche Mortel. We just walked up to the bar and ordered. Chalkboards show the offerings. Plenty of options available and all we tried were incredible. A must stop for the craft lovers visiting Montreal.

My best place for beer in Montreal. Beers are very high quality and the place has a nice ambiance. Only drawback: it is sometimes extremely full

Atmosphere: super cozy little place, jam packed with tables and spilling out into the sidewalk. nothing really fancy about it or decorated up to much.

Quality: Dieu du Ciel is one of the better known Canadian breweries and the quality is known. That said I was very pleased with their smaller batch stuff. Top notch quality here.

Service: they only had 3 or 4 waiters serving the many tables but they get the job done no problem. Started in French and almost flawless switched to English for us.

Selection: around 10-15 taps varying from Belgians to IPAs and stouts, with some experimental and herbed beers in between. I jumped around the board and was super pleased the whole time.

Food: awesome food, we had a couple good pizzas and a smoked salmon sandwich, all were delicious.

Overall: a great brewery in a cool neighborhood in Montreal. Lots of good stuff going on here and you'd be sorry to miss it when visiting.

My favourite place in Montreal to grab a quality beer. I'm genuinely excited when I enter Brasserie Dieu du Ciel - although anxious too because it is always busy and sometimes a struggle to find a seat. DDC has a wonderful selection of beers on tap. Like many others who visit, I'm partial to their incredible IPA's (e.g. Moralite, Disco Soleil, etc), but there is a beer to match anyone's taste. Their food is also good (charcuterie boards, home made pizza's, and more). My only complaint is that the service is sometimes a tad slow. This is due, however, to it being so busy, rather than inattentive.

Wonderful brewery and bar in Montreals Mile End. Beer lovers delight. Sweet selection. They had five stouts on draft so me and my girlfriend were in flavor heaven. If you're from out of town, be cool and come here.
