Pours black with a small head.
Nose shows soft roast, toasted malt, bready notes, brown sugar, cereal notes. Interesting stuff.
Less roast and toasty malt as flavours, while the rest remains. Feels a bit weak, especially combined with the watery body.

Beer bottle (33cl.), tasted in 2002.

Appearance : black color, with tan foam head.
Smell : roasted cereals.
Taste and mouthfeel : roasted cereals, smooth with spicy notes.
Dinkability : a beer (made with buckwheat and spelled) in the style Belgian dark ale.

An organic beer from France. Called a "Triple Grain" on the label I can only assume that this is a Belgian Dark given the beer's characteristics.

Pours from the bottle a very dark brown with little head. It has a slightly sweet taste with an odd tang that the wife pegged as rye bread. That's the smell!

Taste is light an refreshing despite the rye taste. It has pleasant toasty malt character in the aftertaste. Slightly dry.
