Stopped here on my recent trip to Reno, as I often do because it's so close to the place I usually stay.

Atmosphere is ok, it's usually pretty packed with young people that are there for reasons other than the beer. It's usually not a big deal, but I've seen some people that would be better off at home in bed, instead of having another drink here.

Quality is pretty good. They have some hits and misses. But most beers are solid B quality.

Service is a mixed bag. I usually get good service at the bar, and ok service at the tables.

Selection is usually good. They usually have about a dozen beers on tap, sometimes the variety of styles can be a little bland, just depends on when you go.

Food is decent, nothing special.

Prices are fair.

All in all, this is my least favorite of the 2 Silver Peak locations. The older location seems a little nicer, with better atmosphere, and more geared towards people that like beer. But this is a decent spot that I visit often because it's convenient to downtown, and I don't have to drive a car to get there.

Located downtown, the more popular Silver Peak spot. Most people don't seem to be drinking their beers there. Crowd isn't anywhere near beercentric, its the location. Quality is decent, nothing bad or particularly worth writing home about. I like their ipa.

Service is slow. Yeah, sometimes its busy, but I'm not in charge of hiring. Plus, they never know anything about the beer. Dark or light, that's about it. Selection is usually just middle of the road, nothing too adventurous. Never had the food from this location.

I'm more partial to the brewery location, across from the adult theater. Cooler environment, less douchery on the outside. This location is more for the weekend scene, which is fine, but not really about the beer.

The real name of the place is "Silver Peak Grill & Taproom".

Great location, down by the river, just a few block from the main Casino district. There seems to be quite a few locals as well as the expected tourists & gamblers. They have a great selection of their own craft brews as well as a few guest beers including a couple of BMC beers on tap. The bartenders seem very knowledgable about the beers they serve. They will provide a sample if you are not sure what you may want. My favorite were the Pale Ale & IPA. The beers are better across the board than what is served at the Brew Brothers. They have a good menu to go with the brews.

A good place to check out while in Reno.

Easy to find right near the casinos downtown Reno. The atmosphere was not to my tastes, kind of chain-ish. Like a place that had a corporate office somewhere else would have. Not bad though, and I'm sure it appeals to more people than it turns off. I just prefer a more "pub" feel.

The beer we tried was good, not blow you away great or bad. I was under-impressed with the IPA but thought the pumpkin was intriguing. Wish I could have another of that one. They also had a one-off called "Flamboozen Wheatwine." Very interesting. Big alcohol, big fruit flavor, very different. Worth getting that's for sure.

This place is right near the Casinos and has better selection and quality than Brew Brothers in El Dorado, although less atmosphere as well.
All the beers we tried were solid and true to solid. The hefewiezen reminded me of Ayinger. The Bock had a very Geraman flavor (that green apple like thing that many Bock have going on). The Porter was roasty and rich. The Pale was like a nice fresh Sierra Pale, and the IPA was what used to expect from an IPA before the style got equated with "beat you about the face" levels of hops (which I don't really mind).

We tried the Asian wings which were good and there happy hour was something like 2.50 per pint.

You can get your parking validated, for the nearby movie theatre garage.

Read my other review about the other location, which we all thought was superior in beer selection, food, atmosphere, etc.

A great location in downtown makes this one busier than Wonder St. Indoor and outdoor seating is available as well as a bar section. A good atmosphere, but it leans a bit more toward the restaurant side of things. Good food and good beer make it a great place to check out, especially with it's proximity to various entertainment (right behind a movie theatre) as well as the river. Gets busy quick in the afternoon and the staff seems a bit pressed at times, but service is still good. All in all a good place to check out on your way through Reno.
