The wife and I stumbled on this one during our honeymoon on our way back from Sacre Coeur toward the Louvre.

On the windows of the bar it adveritses itself as specializing in French and Imported beer. That's what caught my eye.

Inside the place is an art decon/art nouveau combo that is quite pretty. Rather spacious for a corner cafe in Paris the tables are decent sized and the windows are large and bright. Mirrors on the walls make it appear even larger. The floor in covered in a pretty cream, blue and brown tile. There are plenty of outdoor seats for people watching.

The waiters all must wear ties and we saw them getting ready by grabbing ties from a stash they keep by the bar. It was kind of humorous to watch them picking out which ugly tie they would wear to work that day.

The 10 tap beer selections are moderately good including Leffe Brown and Blonde, Gouden Carolus, Lutterbach, and a Pils on tap. The beer menu includes 12 Belgians including Chimay, Orval, Westmalle Tripel and Dubbel, and Duvel. The reason to go here is the selection of French beers.

On a recent trip to Paris, my hotel was located right aroung the corner from this place. It was generally crowded every night with both large groups in for dinner between 8 pm and midnight as well as the few who could manage to fit at the bar - there is only about 5 bar seats in the place with tables close to the bar. Food is decent. My server was very nice and prompt which can be unusual in Paris as they like to take extended meals and the servers sometimes seem to forget about you. The beer selection was good - Belgians and French dominated the selection. I tended towards the Abbaye de Leffe Brune served in a large goblet (le Baron). It was fantastic. Right on the Rue La Fayette, I recommend taking a seat outside, grab a beer and take in the Paris streets (though this is not a particularly active corner). The price is fairly high, but everything in Paris is expensive - especially after converting from the US dollar. Enjoyed this place on several nights!
