Pours a nice dark golden with minor cloudyness and a thick fizzy light tan head. Smells of genourous caramel malts and very sweet honey like. Taste is very sweet and malty with some citrus and honey flavors followed by just enough hops to take the sugar down a noch. Very nicely balanced. Mouthfeel is creamy and fuzzy, you can feel the alcohol here a little along with the good Carbonation. Drinkability is also pretty solid. Goes down quick and easy with no high ABV bite at all. Overall another very solid Goose.

2006 vintage.
Pours a hazy, dark golden orange color with a half finger white head head that immediately settles into a thin ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with muted hops subtle spice and sweet malts. Faint floral hops along with some pepper, rye, biscuit, caramel and toffee.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation up front and a decent balance of zesty spice and sweet malt notes. Hints of pepper and cinnamon followed by faint floral hops and spicy rye. I'm also picking up some light fruit which compliments the caramel, toffee and biscuit characteristics. Slight buttery aftertaste lingering into a dry finish. ABV is well masked at 8%.

2007 Edition
It pours a luxurious golden, cloudy with very fine yeast, topped briefly by an off-white head, then persisent skim. A gentle swirl leaves thick resins and spots of bubbles. That said, there is something about the appearance that doesn't hit me right, all the parts are there, but it doesn't shine.
The nose is full of yeast, nice peach/nectarine ester, over a nice pale malt sweetness, and some richer maltiness. Not super complex, but extremely inviting.
The taste is a well blended, medium flavor mix of the lighter and sweeter sides of belgiany yeast esters over a very clean malt bill that eludes definition. It's like a ghost of nectar sweet beneath a taste that is luscious, I get peach, lemon, floral, and a juicy finish that has hints of citrus, but is sweet, juicy and free of any alcohol. Like the nose not super comlex, but quite tasty.
Mouthfeel is very good, perhaps a bit thin for style. Smooth, light on the palate, tastefully low carb., very clean flavor profile and finish.
Drinkability is quite good. Given unlimited access I could drink this until the planet Venus becomes an Ice Wilderness.
Impression: Not certain I can get more of this. I'm going to try. Suggest you do same.

Reviewed 8/30/09 solo served out of a snifter glass,
Appearance: Golden tan in color, rather cloudy with two fingers of head which dissipates rather quickly
Smell: There were hints of Belgian yeast and citrus zest.
Taste: Opens mellow and very subdued almost stale grains. the Belgian yeast comes through in the middle but yet again very subdued as it approaches the end there is a distinct hop bitterness and citrus which carries over into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Light to bodied, moderately carbonated.
Drinkability: I usually like Belgian Pale Ales or pretty much all Belgian styled ales but this was too mellow and kind of stale for me, almost seemed like there was no alcohol in this but sadly I must say I wouldn't have another.

Poured into a tulip glass.
A: Pale orange/amber, like a dark golden color. Formed a thick, tight, bone white colored head. Hazy, lots of suspended particles/unfermentables.
S: Chalky, slightly yeasty, notes of citrus. Moderately aromatic to the nose, but with little essence hop or spice.
T: Initially opened quite bland and without much character. The beer opened up on the palate to a watery juice flavor with hidden hints of alcohol and spice that ever so slightly came through the finish.
M: Light, definitely not crisp. I would like to stress the watery-ness.
D: Definitely not what I thought it would be, and quite boring. The lack of outstanding aromas/flavors almost make it a session beer.
