Light mildly carbed Berliner Weisse. Had it on tap during Madison Beer Week. It’s ok. Fairly boring.

A little blander than I expected given the smell and ingredient description.

This beer feels a bit too watery on the palate. "Like soda" was a common comment among tasters in the room. Dunno. I liked the tartness of the brew, the pomegranate is definitely a presence, but overall, this beer needs more body.

Nice Berlinner by GI. Pomegranate is light, but definitely there. The funk is awesome, light cheesey funk and slightly dirty funk as well. Pretty unique funk profile that does not fit the normal berlinner funkiness profile and I like it alot. Light bodied and drinkable. Crisp and tart; slightly dry.

On tap at The Publican in Chicago, IL. 12oz served in a tulip glass 10/18/2014.
A- Hazy orange-yellow body. One finger white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Not much lacing. [3.5]
S- Distinct wheat nose, hints of lactic acid but not a ton, and even less of pomegranate. I can convince myself it's there because I know this is supposed to be made with pomegranate, but if I had known nothing about this beer beforehand, I would never have guessed pomegranate. For the most part, this smells like a forgettable Berliner Weisse without a lot of complexity to it. [3]
F- An improvement on the smell- more lactate, wheat, even a bit of pale malt, with a clean and crisp tartness. The pomegranate is most noticeable on the dry finish, but even then, there isn't a significant amount of fruit flavour here. [3.5]
M- Soft, slightly thinner bodied, good carbonation. Crisp and refreshing. Lactate, wheat and a touch of pomegranate finishes things off. Would be a great summer beer, drinks very easily as expected for such a low ABV beer. [3.5]
O- Solid Berliner Weisse that does not quite deliver the pomegranate in any depth that would be very noticeable. Perhaps this should have been served with some pomegranate syrup on the side? [3.5]
