12oz bottle, from a random grocery store in Sandpoint, Idaho last week.
This beer pours a clear, bright medium golden yellow colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, densely foamy, and mildly creamy off-white head, which leaves some decent layered tacky cloud lace around the glass as it genially recedes.
It smells of bready, biscuity pale and caramel malt, zesty citrus, muddled tropical fruit, pine and a few of its lesser-known arboreal friends, and further herbal, leafy hop bitters. The taste is rather hoppy up front - orange and white grapefruit citrus flesh, mostly - grainy, bready caramel malt, a twinge of earthy yeast, still indistinct tropical fruit esters, and additional spicy, herbal, and floral hops.
The carbonation is rather low-fi on a high-fidelity beer network node, what with its wan frothiness, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, the hops quite polite in their visiting demeanour. It finishes well off-dry, mostly from the fruitiness, though no one in particular stands out, and a demurely supportive malt.
I have never quite grokked the exact nature of the 'summer' ale, beyond fruity adjuncts and typically bland blondes (ale, that is). Here, we are presented with more of the former, but via hop schedule instead of actual fruit. I gotta say, this one works as a thirst-quenching, no-brainer summer tipple, which I suppose is the subtle point, after all.

Quick review. This brew exceeded my expectations. Tasty-as-hell hop bill here, with more than enough malt to make it serious. It's quite fitting & refreshing as a warm-weather seasonal, but damn this beer really overachieves.

These guys get it. Your typical summer beers tend to appeal to the lowest common denominator by getting carried away with the lemon, orange etc at the expense of the hops and malt. There's more than enough of that out there. Here you get a touch of citrus, mild hops and moderate alcohol. Perfect for golf, softball, lawn mowing and so on. Sounds like summer to me!

Lovely APA, my favorite style, so biased. Been looking for a 5% APA. (My fave is Dales Pale Ale - which is boisterously hopped.
A -- Bright, clear coppery golden with a white head that settles slowly, leaving lots of lacing.
S -- Plenty of nose for a summer session ale, which is what I seek. Large citrus nose up front -- with pine sap and caramel.
T -- Follows smell and is the best part. Citrus up front with pine following on a layer of caramel biscuit malt. Finishes with power: spicy bitterness with tangerine rind and pepper.
M -- Great feel for a 5% beer, soft, relaxed, mid-palate weight. Clean peppery finish.
O -- Overall this is a great summer beer. Hoppy, peppery, refreshing. As good as any summer ale I have tried.

Finally someone understands how to make a summer brew. The slogan reads, "Crisp & endlessly refreshing session ale," and I agree. Clean and delicious hop bill but stays true to its summer smoothness. Grab these if you got some yard work, it's definitely worth it.

One of the best session ales out there. The aroma qualities of fresh citrus, with a hop-enhanced grapefruit finish, is what I look for when chillin' to Indie Folk music on the back patio in the summer!
