12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.

Amazing showing of head and lacing, bright and perfectly clear pale copper hue. Some herbal (berries & mint?) hop and clean bready grain in the nose. Pleasing crispness, light bodied enough for a Pils. Has the bitterness of an IPA, a little harsh and takes over a little bit. Clean palate, some bread crust and crackers in the middle. While this beer is enjoyable this is clearly not to be confused with any traditional style of Pilsner, at least I got my hop fix.

A - Fine golden body, clear and white capped, lots of lacing.

S - The nose is citrus, bright, hoppy, with a hint of grass and danker hop notes. Not your standard Pils nose here, but that is not a bad thing.

T - Flavor is more typical of a Pilsner, but with more pine and citrus. Close is dry, drawing you to another drink.

M - Crisp and light. A bit of drying in the close.

O - Drinkable, and pleasant. A clean, bright, refreshing American Pils that I would pick up again.

Not even CLOSE to a pilsner.

It's about as much of a pils as if you poured 2/3 of an IPA into 1/4 of a Coors Light. And nowhere near a "German style" pils.

Total disappointment.

12 oz can out on a golf course. More hoppy than I expected for this style, but easy to drink a few of these. Not your typical stinky German Pils, I like the Goose Island twist.

Definitely on the darker side of gold. Holds up nice against the light though, and maintains nice head retention throughout the tasting. Has a crisp floral scent which reflects on the first sip. Hoppy is the word. However, this beer finishes really good. I will have no problem drinking a few more of these.

Hard to rate since it seems more Pale Ale than Pilsner to me. Golden colour with good head. Citrus nose, good body and clean bitter finish.

Clear golden/orange color with a pleasant aroma. I think it is a well made beer just not what I'm a used to in a pils. Tasted more like an ipa to me but I imagine that's what a lot of people will find attractive about this beer

DATE: 25 August 2016... OCCASION: finally a (mini) vacation for the Kisatsky family, to Point Pleasant courtesy of Gil and Becky... GLASSWARE: medium wine... pours with a flourish, producing a bright gold body with streams of small bubbles... crystal clear... head is a proper froth ringing the glass, with a single-fingered width... the inner ring is bubbly with breaks of yellow slicing... first scents include barley malts, Saaz hops, a slight metallic return, some flowery hints, and lilting citrus... mouth fell is relatively dry and crisp, with effervescent flow and bite at the teeth--hoppy indeed for a pilsner... flavor profile is medium-bodied, strongly pronounced at its genesis with a flowery, Saaz-centric impact... roasted malts overtake the taste by the throat... honey is a powerful player here... other flavors include lemon grass, subtle pepper and spice... beautiful lacing adds to its attraction as the glass drains... overall, a beer that beguiles with a slightly hoppier profile than its brethren--a welcome mix, given the flowery hints and honey that heighten the malty elements... a beer I would seek out again, one worthy of full-page ads in Rolling Stone, one that benefits from major label support... at 5.1%, worth a slow sip but slammable all the same...

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "bottled date" 3-11-16.

APPEARANCE: pours a clear golden color with less than one-finger white head that quickly dissipated until a thin, broken layer of small bubbles remained, there is minimal lacing on the glass, medium carbonation.

SMELL: faint to the nose, sweet bread and an earthy metallic note.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet bready malt then a mild grapefruit citrus note, there is also an earthy metallic taste.

PALATE: medium body and carbonation.

OVERALL: this is a very good beer, to me it's a pale ale but whatever you want to call it is fine by me Goose Island.....Inbev.....whatever, I would buy this again and would recommend to anyone who enjoys pale ale.

Straight out the gate this isn't your average pilsner. No sir/miss, this is a hoppier take on the classic American style of beer that still holds onto the basics of a pilsner and does them well, while being something a little different, but not in a bad way. Personally, this is up there as far as any pilsners I've had. I think it has the unfair advantage of feeling like it's maybe 1/4 IPA somewhere in the family tree, but I don't care. If someone asked for my go-to pilsner at the moment I'd say this.
L - Clear and golden. Gorgeous head.
S - Bready and sweet like a pilsner should be, but with piny hop notes as well.
T - Low levels of bready sweetness come up front, followed by higher levels of floral hoppy bitterness. This is such a fantastic balance for me, and hits on something I've not had in a pilsner before. Refreshing and delicious. Finish is dry and lingers for longer than you'd think, but you'll be gratefulm
F - Dry, crisp and refreshing. What ie ant from any pilsner really. Emphasis on crisp.
O - Not the average pils, I know, but this is a fantastic beer that anyone and everyone should give a chance. Goose Island is killing it for me.
