The Goose Island Experimental Winter Ale is decent. Have a nice spice to it and finishes dry. It poured a nice clear rich amber with thin head that is not lacing. The scent has an interesting spice to it. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Not bad.

A ruby red color with a thick tan head that persisted.
A fruity, spicy aroma.
Dark fruit taste. Lots of clove. Not real pleasant.
Too much bitterness.
Not a great beer.

Given to me by a friend recently. I believe it was in a Goose Island variety pack bought at Costco. Served in a Goose Island snifter.

Look- Pours a dark ruby color with a quarter inch of light tan foam.

Smell- Mulling spices, caramel, cloves and mild bubblegum.

Taste- Caramel malt and mulling spices. There is a bitterness in the finish with a hint of pepper.

Feel- Starts on the oily side and finishes bitter and semi dry.

Overall- A pretty typical spiced up winter ale. There is a pronounced bitterness in the back that didn't appeal to me as I finished the bottle. One was enough.

Pours a clean looking amber color with a decent sized offwhite head, fades at a slow rate and leaves a fairly long lasting cap.

Smell is pretty much all tasted malt with only very subtle hints of spicing.

Taste is a straight up caramel malt bomb, mild bitterness in the follow-through, there's a buttery slickness to it along with a decent carbonation level, overall nothing too interesting though.

On-tap 2/19/2016 at Doherty’s Ale House in Warwick, RI, served in a tapered pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep coppery red color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, spices, some fruit and some hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty malt character. Then some mildly sweet flavors of spice, caramel and fruit come in. the hops presence is strong for the style and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, slightly filling, decent kick, decent hoppy representation of style, it’s a solid beer to drink for a while.
