My can was packaged 8 months ago but it was purchased from a refrigerated cooler from a retailer that keeps most of their beer refrigerated.

L: it pours hazy amber with an orange tint permeated by streams of rapidly rising bubbles. There is a slight fizz on top that quickly disappears.

S: The aromas are not big but they feature mango, traces of wood and tequila and some light saison character.

T: Mango, traces of tequila, a mild bitterness, a light expression of saison character, trace earthiness, some oak notes and a slight astringent note on the finish from the oak.

F: It tastes more carbonated than it looks and the texture is full from the added mango.

O: The beer has a lot of promise but fails to deliver. It needs more carbonation and it needs more saison yeast character.

Looks like mango puree and the smell and flavor confirm that. The tequila takes a back seat to the fruit. An unusual combination of flavors for a Belgian strong pale ale but it really worked for me.

From a sixteen ounce can, this brew is a ride. Hazy, pale yellow with a slim head. The aroma is funky, with a bit of flowery and pepper scents. Interesting. The taste is at one spicy and sweet. Medium body and interesting. Nice.

Hazy like a Hefe with a creamy but thin white blanket and thicker ring.

Smell has an herbal twang of tequila barrel but no heat, and then...pickled banana pepper...?!

Taste adds to the weirdness, bringing lightly tart dill pickle and a very strange 1980s My Little Pony strawberry toy with peanut butter smeared on it. The aftertaste becomes more like peanut, as opposed to peanut butter. A few minutes into this beer and it starts becoming even more familiar...Mountain Dew!

The smooth, round soft medium body has matching wet carbonation and a wet swallow.

12oz draft pour into a tulip glass shows a hazy straw colored body and floats a 1/4in white head that disippates after a swig to an edge hugging ring and leaves no lacing.
Aroma is a blast of agave with hints of dill, banana, and clove.
Taste matches with an almost minty heat.
Mouthfeel is medium, leaning light, with a clean finish and no aftertaste.
Overall, a very complex, well brewed beer.

Not bad, though not an improvement on the original Sofie. Unmistakeale agave note in the nose, rather earthy on the palate. Cool idea, though not sure it really comes off.

16oz from Beershop NYC on the UES
Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with no head, boozy lacing, smells funky with sweet/sour passionfruit and nice tequila spice, taste is spiced pineapple that transitions into warming tequila, has an almost cocktail sauce refreshing spice quality to it, feel is medium with good carbonation. Fruity, spicy, tequila candy. Yum!

Tequila barrel aged; definitely comes through in the taste.

A good saison but if you don't like tequila BA beers, skip this one as it is strong in the taste.
