Very Good
Notes: The 2018 Festival of Wood and Barrel-Aged Beers (FoBAB) award-winning variant is back for its second year, this year aged 100% in Larceny wheated bourbon casks from our partners at Heaven Hill. The result is a softer flavor profile, full of caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, and toffee flavors, all while carrying the nuances of Larceny bourbon barrels.

Bottle from Harvest Market
Dark amber in color with a thin bubbly off white head that dissipates quickly. Light citrus and spice with plenty of oaky woodiness to counter the sweet bready toasty maltiness.

Deep amber/straw appearance with minimal head. Aroma is a very pleasant bourbon and caramel. Toasted is also a rich caramel with bourbon accent. A little thin.

2018 sbs with 2019

Both pour a khaki tan head. The 2019 has better retention. Colors are both a copper clear.

2019 has a nicer vanilla and barrel flavor. In general a nicer flavor profile for the 2019. Softer and rounded out. Banana cream pie and bourbon. 2018 seems to be a bit harsh and more alcohol showing. Banana and oak, it just isn’t rounded out for being a year aged. 4.65 for 2019 and 4.45 for 2018.
