Pours copper in color with a retaining white head that holds around the glass. On tap at world of beer.

Aroma is of relatively strong funk, baking soda, citric acid, a bit of raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry. Some shoe leather noted.

Taste is extremely funky. A bunch of leather, beef jerky, lactic acid, citrus peel, and only a bit of a raspberry/ blackberry-like tartness. Very dry.

Overall, the beer is on the more extreme side of a wild ale. Nothing amazing in my opinion and a little too "wild" for my tastes. Still a solid offering. A little hard to drink a full glass of as it it is so relentlessly sour. I see it pairing well with richer dishes, perhaps a French pate. It gets a 81/100.

Deep amber. Good color. Interesting smell. BlackBerry notes and some cab tannis. Vinegar smell but light and mixes well with the others. Nice moderate brett note. Ditto taste but adds a stronger brett funk. Tingling carbonation make good. Light body and thin. Good. Go for it.

Sour, funky, a little sweet, but overall a strong sour. The fruit comes through prominently, but there's a strong nuanced sour base here too. An excellent wild ale. Sampled from a friend's taster at a sour tasting event. Not enough was tried to give a true rating, but a placeholder approximating it has been given here.

Pours a slightly rusty orange hue with minimal carbonation that dissipates quickly. A noticeable oily slickness on the surface.

Bright fresh tart blackberry aroma with additional berry notes, a bit of herbal spice/earthiness, and a vinous white grape note.

A burst of blackberry flavor. Very tart and refreshing fruitiness with a touch of oaky and vinous barrel character.

Light-bodied, low carbonation, puckeringly tart, fruity.

Overall, quite a pleasant beer. Definitely leans farther on the tart vs. funk spectrum and provides a heavy does of nice blackberry aroma and flavor with a pleasantly puckering tartness.

No label information. Juliet is brewed in the style of a Belgian Style Wild Ale aged in wine barrels with blackberries added. Available in 750ml. limited release bottles and on limited draft.

Poured from a 750ml. bottle to a tulip glass.

(Appearance) Pours a short-lived crisp, fizzy head of a pale beige tone over a medium hazy caramel amber body with moderate carbonation. Retention is poor and there is no visible lacing. 2.5

(Smell) Bread and pale malts with the tangy, acidic and slightly sweet impact of blackberry juice. Bold tartness and acidity suggest Brettanomyces had a further impact on this beer, and a peppery, spicy nose is suggestive of Belgian farmhouse style yeast strains. Potency is moderate. 3.75

(Taste) Very sour and acidic up front with the tanginess of blackberry fruit adding a mild note of juicy complexity. Moderately dry malt profile, quite clean and lightly bodied with simple pale malt and bread malt characters. The spiciness of the yeast profile is a bit more dialed down and in line with the other flavors in this beer, coming through quite nicely for a punctuated finish. The barrel aging is detectable, vinous characters are mild but lend themselves well to the fruit base of this beer for a light and dry but complex sour. Juliet is one of the most sour of the sister beer releases I have sampled from this brewery as yet, but is nicely done as well. 4.5

(Mouthfeel) Texture is smooth, slick, lightly residual, tangy and peppery, moderately chalky dry. Carbonation is moderate, generating a mild frothiness and a medium crisp finish. Body is medium+ for the style, medium+ overall. Balance is sour, tangy and acidic, over sweet. Alcohol presence is light and there are no off characters. 3.75

(Overall) This is one of the more acidic and tangy sour beers out of the "sister" series, and the blackberry character, while not particularly bold in flavor delivery, accents the simple malt profile well. This is my favorite of the bunch so far, but I would find an annual release in a more accessible format far more pleasing for a return visit, as this is one of their most expensive releases as a 750. 4
