Goose Island Wild Herd Kölsch, 5% ABV. Pours golden with a one-finger white head that left foamy lacing. Nose is malty, taste follows. Decent mouthfeel, overall very good.

The "Tall Pour" at Buffalo Wild Wings for $3 a bargain!
The look on the pour is quite nice with a 2ish finger head and lively carbonation, but the head quickly fades to a ring around the glass that leaves no lacing, a bit disappointing but it's cheap beer.
The smell is even more disappointing. Somehow the kag managed to get skunked, I don't remember it being lime this last time I drank this beer, but it's been a while. Some malts peeking through but the hops definitely got messed up in this keg somehow.
Taste brings some redemption with a nice malty and sweet flavor right at the frond that fades into a light lager-y almost Corona flavor on the aftertaste. Hops are detectable but not very bitter more of a grassy pine flavor hiding behind all the malts. Quite nice and easy drinking actually.
Feel is quite smooth and easy to put down almost creamy on the palate despite the lack of head retention. Seems like it could be served ice cold or even at cellar temp since as the beer warmed not much changed besides bringing out more malts.
Overall it's a good and cheap beer the $3 deal seems to not be a limited time, as both times I've had this beer it was 3 bucks at stores a couple hours away from each other. Decently flavorful with a forgivable imperfection. I don't know enough about kolsch to say weather it's an accurate recreation or not.

Honestly this really isn't bad. Not the best example of the style but pretty solid. I see some roasting cuz its on tap at B-dubs or because its some corporate thing but idk. Its one of the better things I've had from Goose besides BCBS.

I am trying a pint of this beer off the tapper at Buffalo Wild Wings in Mount Vernon, Illinois. It poured aclear golden with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had subtle lemon notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp light malt base with subtle lemon citrus highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Pretty good beer for the price, but that’s it. Not an average beer.

Reminds A LOT of Hogaarden wheat beer, has that similar strange aftertaste. But if you like that beer this is right up your alley.

this should be so bad, literally the rest of its kind is terrible, the macro corporate owned pseudo craft brands made for some lackluster chain restaurant group, like the fact that this is even decent is shocking, but good is borderline radical, and i liked this at that level. sure its just a touch sweet for the style, and yeah, its not dripping in german character really, but it has a lot of redeeming qualities, not least of which is drinkability, this is pale and simple and off dry, but pleasant and clean, and as good for what it isnt as for what it is, not a huge identity to it, but not minimal to a fault either, and one of those thoughtless drinkers that others could realistically aspire to, i think they did a nice job with this, whether or not it hits the mark for a proper kolsch remains up for debate. some head, nice clarity, not a big nose on it but nothing old or weird, some european yeast essence if you look for it, and a light grassy hop flavor note, trace orange, yellow cake, nothing crazy, but its good, and at its best when its frosty. ill take this with the desert heat dry rub on the fries, the nashville hot sandwich, or whatever else this hellhole can throw at me. they have done worse many times before...

22oz draft at b-dubs
Filtered look, small cap of foam, lace. Smells sweet with light notes of cut grass. Taste follows the nose, Light and grainy and green tasting. Not much flavor here, just an easy drinker. Slight off-flavor, there might be dirty tap lines here, or it could be the beer...

22oz draft at Buffalo Wild Wings. Poured a clear, straw-yellow color with a large, rocky, white head of foam. It left sudsy rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of caramel, toffee and floral notes. Sweet caramel, toffee and with citrus and a mild bitterness.

On draught at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Pours a sparkling clear pale gold with a good head of foam.
The smell is light. Some bread, a sweet note, a little suggested bitterness.
Taste is equally light. Light flavour of bread some malty sweetness, near zero bitterness. Does not taste much different than an AAL.
Body is light; imagine that.
There are way better examples of the style.
