We received some freshly dumped American rum barrels that held pure cane sugar distilled rum for 2 years. We immediately decided to fill these with our signature stout to see what nuances of the barrel we could pick up. After just over a yea in the barrel we couldn't be more excited about what this beer highlights. A true one-of-a-kind release that makes this stout a summertime night sipper to share with friends.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like oak spice, banana, caramel, dark chocolate, char, vanilla, rum, and coffee.

Viewed as something along the lines of Rum BCBS, this one works very well. There's a great rum character, with some spiced cake, banana, oak, and spice, along with some caramel tones, maybe. There's also char, coffee, vanilla, and rich dark chocolate.

This is pretty thick, creamy, and rich, with a great drinkability. There's somehow no booze even though the ABV is extremely well.

It's cool to continue seeing these small batch bottle releases from the taproom, even after the taproom was rebranded from Clybourn.

Bottled 8/8/21; drank 9/12/21 @ the Yarchives.

Black appearance.

An even pour yielded a small, noisy tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.

Banana, dark chocolate, oak & rum heat notes in the nose.

Thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Dark chocolate & wood flavors up front; banana & mild rum heat notes on the finish.

Actually pretty balanced, considering the ABV (and my distaste for rum); not going to make you forget about bourbon county, but still a very nice beer. I'd have another...

First thing that strikes me is how smooth this is. Alcohol is so well hidden. Would definitely buy again
