Appearance- The color reminds me of cedar wood an earthy dark amber/red .

Smell- A litlle more hops than malt sweetness. But both make there presence known when you take a snootfull of this stuff.

Taste- One of the best red/amber ales I've had so far. Great hops and malt presence that balance each other out nicely. Caught hints of light fruits e.g. strawberries, cantalope.

Mouthfeel- Light on palate and definetly lends itself to match with food nicely like breaded shrimp. This beer is light on the palate but fuul of great flavors.

Drinkability- Great flavor is one I wanted to experience over and over again. Isn't overwhelming on the tongue or the mind with alcohol.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer has a brown body with a reddish hue and it is crystal clear. There is a light tan head that last a good while.

S- The smell of dark toasted malt is slightly sweet but there are no black malt smells.

T- The taste of lightly toasted malt like Vienna malt has a background of darker toasted malt that gives a little depth. There is a slight pot caramel note that comes through more as it warms. The finish is a faint hop hint with a slight sour note that really increases as it warms.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a slight dryness to the finish.

D- This beer has some nice malt flavors but there are a few off flavors and the sour note in the finish gets in the way.

On-tap into a taster... This one starts off really nice. A bright clear medium copper, hints of amber. The head is a nice tope color, great retention, looks good... The aroma is light with notes of rye and a hint of toffee; a little generic but unoffensive... The taste is horrible, fuesal alcohol finish with a bit of toffee. Was this the base beer for BA 1000 IBU? Tastes like burning.
