Best and worst venue in Eastern Australia.
Beers are excellent. 3 hand pump offerings. Neat. Real good limited selection and regular selections. Creative selections and well made beers.
Menu is poor at best. Better options available in Canberra with a strong restaurant scene. No food offerings besides potato chips on Sunday. Not acceptable. Better off walking to the mall and getting a sandwich.
bar service is solid. Staff know the beer and will warn you on high ABV beers. Bar is quite small though and can wait in line for periods.
No internet presence, facebook, or twitter. Not acceptable in the 21st century.
Busy place as the only real beer bar in Canberra. Was packed at 630 PM on a Sunday over a long weekend.
True to style English style pub that needs a serious makeover but has a very welcoming feel to it and all types of people can been seen in the pub. I think that is neat.
All the bashing aside, it is a hidden gem for beer. Venue needs to be blown up but the beers are as good, if not better than Murray's, Mountain Goat, and Feral. Drink beer there but dine elsewhere
