Went here twice this weekend. Really liked the food and beer they had.

Atmosphere is decent. Good at nights. Layout is interesting. Expansive dining area, kind of confusing to manuever around. Didn't seem too organized, but whatever. Bar was long but not too many people were bellying up when I was there. Good amount of tv's, good for weekend football watching. Good bands when I was there and the setup was good.

Food is good. Sandwiches are far above the quality I expected. Thick meats, great bread, fresh cheese, quality condiments. Pizza was also really good. Ingredients aplenty and they pile it on if you ask for it.

Beer was also above par. Not the most choices when I was there but everything was solid. I didnt have any stunners but everything was solid to really good. I came here twice, says enough.

2/19/16 - Came late one Friday, very crowded but able to get a seat at the bar. This place was highly recommended for the pizza and beers, a recommendation not only spot on, but even exceeding my high expectations. The two beers I had, The Bowie Beer and the award winning The Weight Beer, were excellent, as good as their respective namesakes. The pizza was very good, in terms of taste, texture and crust. Not sure why I never made it here before, though I definitely want to hit this again, both for the beer and pizza.

Definitely has more of the pizzeria feel than brewery. Lucky for everyone they're good at both. Pizza and beer are both great. Handful of solid beers with a strong good menu. Parking is typical north side(sucks), but worth a stop if you're on the north side.

I've been to Piece three times (I live in Wicker Park/Bucktown the two neighborhoods that North Avenue centers. In our neighborhood, my wife and I are usually the oldest people in the restaurant... even if the other residents bring their parents.)
Anyway...
The first time was for lunch. I walked in and sat behind a half-empty bar and waited for someone to wait on me. After feeling dumb and old for about ten minutes, I walked out and no one said anything.
About five years later, a friend of my wife's thought Piece was a good idea. It wasn't. Although the waiter was funny, he could not distract from the facts: the place is too damn loud to carry on a conversation, I had average sauce on the pasta and my flight of their three beers were gladly shared as they were undistinguished.
Then this past summer to escape a torrential rainfall, a friend and I scooted in. We were only going to drink beer and did in bottles (Belgians from Belgium.) He got hungry and ordered pizza. Below average.
Piece is a success.
As for me, three strikes and you are out.
This neighborhood may well be the best place to eat in a city of 2.5 Million. I have options other than Piece to explore.

what a cool spot, with a couple of entrances, one for beer and pizza to go, the other for the main restaurant and bar. we did not eat, but the pizzas coming out looked and smelled sensational, and i will certainly be back to try them. the beers were really solid, it sounded like the brewer had quite the resume, and the beer, while somewhat simplistic in terms of styles on the menu, absolutely showed that experience. the porter was probably my favorite, but the pale and kolsch were also outstanding. they had some neat guest beers here too, so assuredly something for everyone. the space is big and warm, really long bendy bar with some great staff back there. our dudes were really friendly, happy to chat, and eager to share all their stuff. they also were full of information about the chicago beer scene, and enhanced our trip tremendously. the porter was the winner for me, lots of chocolatey layers, and a smooth full bodied feel. perfect for a chilly saturday afternoon. i look forward to coming back, gorging myself on pizza, and hunkering down for a nice long session. these guys are really worth checking out.

I've stopped here on a couple of recent trips to Chicago, usually after a session at Link's Taproom around the corner. It is always packed when I try to stop in (~9 or 10PM, both weekdays and weekends), so be prepared to wait or have a Plan B. Their beer is solid, but the reason to come is the New Haven style apizza. Highly recommended all around.

Good beer that you can't get outside the brewpub. A couple of the beers were 4/5 in my opinion. Others were average. Service was okay, but not great. Pizza (Atomic) was awesome--something different (thin crust) than the crowded deep dish places. Bottom line: very good beer and great pizza make this a place worth visiting when in Chicago.

My favorite place in Chicago for pizza and beer. I always thought the pizza was better than the beer, but since I've been going there, they've stepped up the beer game, both with the house brewed stuff, and the guest taps. They make a few great beers that go great with eating pizza- The Weight and Golden Arm come to mind. Great thin crust, New Haven style pizza bucks the Chicago deep-dish trend, but I'd rather be eating the thin stuff when drinking any day . Cool natural lit wide open room in the center/bar area, but the booths can be dim and dark. I suggest going during the day, or right when they open for lunch. Sunday Pizza and a Growler to go for 20 Bucks is an awesome deal. I go back every time I visit Chicago.
