From the outside you would think this small liquor store would carry only macro and large cheap malt liquor consumed from a brown bag. However, this store, for its small size, is a gold mine of micro offerings from Three Floyds, Sierra Nevada seasonals as well as hard to find imports. They also have an impressive collection of 22 oz. singles. Because they sale singles, make sure your six pack has all six of the beer you have chosen. I purchased a six pack of Three Floyds Pride and Joy and ended up with a bottle of Three floyds scottish ale. Also, during this summer the temperature was very warm inside, and this can not be good for non refrigerated beer on the shelves.

Each time I have visited the store, the staff have been courteous and always ask if I need assistance. For those living in Louisville, it is worth driving accross the bridge as this store has many beers not available in KY. Note: I recently purchased a six pack of Three Floyds' Gumballhead.

Im a Louisville boy. Born and raised. I, like many other Kentuckians have always been of the opinion that the only reason to go to Indiana was for fireworks. That was before I found the Keg. Now there are two good reasons!

One of the best stores I have ever found for anything I have ever been interested in is the Keg. Not only are they stocked with more amazing craft and import brews than you can drink in a year (try it, I dare you), but the special releases they get in weekly are simply amazing. You BAs know how it is. There is a limited release and you go from store to store trying to find it. No store around Louisville or southern Indiana gets a consistent order of THE limited release of the week. Or month. Or year. EXCEPT the Keg. It never fails. Every week there is something Todd gets in that I am amazed by, be it a craft release from California or a Loon from Belgium. If youre looking for it, odds are he has it or is getting it. Most owners are content with just getting in whatever the vendors tell them is available, but Todd is a BA. He is into craft and you can tell. He makes sure that his store gets the releases you wont find at any other store. Every other store around Keg, be it to the east or west, can only try to be like Keg, but they never will be. Not to mention the fact that his staff is helpful, nice and knows what they are talking about. They know the product on the shelves, and most of them they have tried.

I honestly do not want to think about the countless limited releases I would have missed out on had it not been for the Keg being there. You owe it to yourself to stop by the store even if youre just passing through. We all know there are those shops that we frequent whenever we are visiting from another city. Go to the Keg once and this will be your stop for Louisville. I promise.

I travel quite a bit and whenever I am in Louisville, or Southern Indiana, I always stop by the keg to stock up. Todd is the definition of beer advocate and will go out of his way to show you beer you may enjoy or help you in anyway he can.

It may not be the cheapest prices you can find beer, but the extra $0.50-$1.00 you pay here is absolutely worth it.
