I barged in with group of 12 people and was pleased to see that they had room. The bar service was great and very friendly, offering us lots of drinks on the house and even letting us pour our own pitchers! The selection of beer was a bit disappointing, they only had 5 beers available in stock, and three of which were fruity. Unfortunately we arrived too late to order food, since the they stop serving food at 10pm, but they did have a rather full menu of what sounded like delicious beer-friendly food. The beer itself was quite disappointing after a road-trip planned solely for the beer, but the bar itself was worth it.

I got there with five friends on a "tournée" of a few brewries.

Maybe it was not a good time (saturday late afternoon) but there was absolutely NO AMBIANCE. Cannot remember what type of music was palying...

We included that place on a plaseant memory we had from the Mondial de la bière last year. We thought that their "noire Soeur" was good and it would be nice to see their offerings.

We sat at some poker table and ordered the samples to taste all of their stuff. 12 beers were offered.

The staff could not inform us on the beers. The samples arrived in some kind of order that could be best described as from smoother to heavier taste.

6 individuals sampled the offerings. Not a single beer sood out... Quite disapointing. Even our beloved Noire Soeur did not met our expectations.

Le Grimoire is a small pub on Granby's main drag. It is a block away from the Cégep de Granby-Haute-Yamaska so it is largely a student hang-out. The décor is fine, except that we were sitting on metal lawn chairs, which aren't really designed for comfort.

Unfortunately, we showed up on karaoke night (cringe). I think that they hold it on a regular basis, because they were well equipped and the clientele was pretty into it. Call ahead.

The service was fast and friendly, but no one we talked to could give us any information on the beer. Apparently, only the brewer knows anything about them and he wasn't there.

8 different beers on tap in a variety of styles. I tried 5 of them and was extremely disappointed. Each one was watery and bland with unpleasant off-flavours.

I didn't try the food but they did have free popcorn. The prices were reasonable, 10$ pitchers being the format of choice.

The general impression that I got was that this place was definitely not targeting serious beer lovers. Obviously they skimp on ingredients and originality to cut costs and offer beers that the average (or in this case, slightly underage) macro drinker can enjoy. I can't recommend it.
