Big thanks to Corey!

Good looking brew, like melted chocolate, clean, smooth, dark. A thin off white head and lack of what I'd hoped to be creamy lacing is a bit of a disappointment, but this is still one delicious looking beverage.

Smells like exactly what you'd expect; chocolate, peanut butter, a touch of coffee. A nice sweet, dark bread element lingers below.

The flavor also follows suit but seems a bit artificial to me. Well, the peanut butter at least. The coffee is actually quite nice, roasty and bitter. Dark chocolate actually smooths out the peanut butter a bit.

Along with what's stated above, the sweet peanut butter is a bit off, but the roast, toast, bitter sides are quite nice. This thing is screaming to be more creamy and rich as it's a bit thin, but I will give the lack of carbonation some praise.

I've had a few peanut butter infused beers now. This is definitely one of the better ones, but still not my thing. The coffee was a great touch.

Pours a nearly opaque black with a thin dusting of tan head. The aroma is rich coffee, dark chocolate, and peanut butter. Mild carbonation, and a full rich mouthfeel make this a wonderful sipping beer. The chocolate and peanut butter pair up with the coffee and roasted notes in the porter amazingly. It's great news that this is finally getting distributed (at least in a limited manner until the production facility is on line).

Pours black with a finger of khaki foam. Poured out of a 32oz crowler canned 5 days before consumption. Head formation is fair, with fair retention. Aroma is peanut butter from the moment the crowler was cracked open. Peanut butter is accompanied by a bold note of medium-roast coffee, and finer notes of milk chocolate and toast. Flavor profile is peanut butter forward, both when the beer is cold and warm. Coffee is present, and carries a wonderful medium-roast, medium-body. Milk chocolate, toast, and a hint of lactose give the beer a little extra dimension, but overall the focus here is peanut butter and coffee. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a texture that is stuck somewhere between fizzy and velvety. While it's a smooth and favorable texture, its fizzy nature keeps it from being completely smooth. Overall, a wonderful porter that nails every flavor its name implies, all the while retaining a splendid balance.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 32oz crowler.

Thanks goes out to MastaaaGrillaaa for this brew, from NBS BIF#6

32 oz. Crowler
Canned On: 9-29-17

My first from this brewery.
9 days on this brew.

Poured into a Squatters true pint glass a pretty nice dark brown color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus light tan head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with some pretty nice chocolate/toffee notes, peanut butter, vanilla, nice touch of coffee, nice little roasty/nutty note. The taste is really nice, malty, chocolate/toffee, vanilla, nice sweetness, peanut butter, really nice touch of coffee, roasty/nutty. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a really nice tasty brew. Glad to have gotten a chance to try it.

Awesome beer. It's not Nut Smasher, but at 5.5%, it's a tasty coffee peanut butter porter. Body is lighter-medium, with a nice balance of coffee flavour and peanut butter sweetness. The porter doesn't contribute much, but on the flavour, it's got a nice Reese's peanut butter cup flavour to round things out.

I really like this beer, has my favorite things all my favorites rolled into one.
Great longstanding local pub/restaurant main reason I go is to get this beer. Anytime I happen to see a growler station with this I can't help to take advantage of it.
Nice dark color, really get the smell of the peanut butter. Coffee helps to make it not too sweet. Good smooth finish, quality porter here

Poured from a crowler into a snifter. Pours jet black with a thin foamy tan head. Slight lacing but doesn't stick around.

Nose is clean and on point - coffee and peanut butter big with chocolate a bit more subdued. Just as advertised.

Flavor follows with the chocolate more prevalent - coffee big and peanut butter obviously there. What's nice is the coffee brings a nice bitterness so this isn't overly sweet. Its flavor is definitely aided by the substantial carbonation. It is still a relatively sweet porter, but not overly so. The balance is really great here.

The feel here is spot on. Nice big carbonation, full rounded body. Nice drying bitter presence. Light enough on the palate that this doesn't stick around or have any syrupy aspects.

This is a great beer to have with dessert, not just AS dessert like some others I've had similar to this. The coffee is the key component to making this all work so well in my opinion. Would gladly have again.

32oz growler filled at Save-On Craft Beer in Mentor, Ohio

Growler poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with brown hues; small tan head that fades leaving solid retention and little lacing. The aromas are awesome. The coffee shines along with peanut butter notes blending perfectly. Some chocolate and hazelnut in the mix along with some malts. The flavors follow the nose perfectly. Lots of roasted black coffee along with lots of chocolate. The peanut butter is definitely present. There's a subtle sweetness, but it's a little more on the bitter side. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is light and thin with very active carbonation. Very smooth and easy to drink.

This has always been a popular local beer, and for good reason. If you like coffee, chocolate and peanut butter, then you can't miss with this one. Highly recommended.

Pours a nearly solid black, with only hints of light coming through around the edges. The head is brown, thick and fluffy. The nose is nutty, sweet and coffee. The taste has notes of chocolate, hints of coffee, but I'm really looking for more peanut butter. There's a touch of it towards the end, and if you let the sip linger on the tongue it comes out a bit more. Overall, it's a good, interesting, novelty, desert beer.

This beer really nails the chocolatey peanut butter notes in both aroma and taste, with coffee providing a nice earth and bittering balance to keep this otherwise lighter porter as an easily quaffable brew that's not quite a cloying dessert beer, but can be if you want it.

I know they were basically the originators of this beer flavor profile in our area, but this is done remarkably better by another brewery in the state.

Poured from 32oz crowler that sat in my fridge way longer than it should have. Despite the age, the pour looked magnificent. Pitch black with a fluffy tan head. The lacing in my snifter stuck like glue. Nose on this one was roasty and sweet with lots of dark roast coffee. Couldn't really taste the peanut butter, but coffee and dark chocolate were all there. This beer os incredibly roasty and blends wonderfully with the coffee. Carbonation was light, as was the body, but the flavor in this one more than made up for it. I would love to try this one a little more fresh but was still incredibly impressed by this beer.

Enjoyed at the brewery.

L - nice and dark, some slight head, apt for style
S - coffee and nuttiness and cocoa in that order for me on this one
T - really interesting blend of the flavor a you'd expect, but almost like a deconstructed meal there was some subtlety--peanut butter always sounds odd to me, but nuttiness doesn't. And that blended with the cocoa and coffee were smooth. All flavor a easily distinguishable. Not boozy. Also not overly sweet, which seemed a danger
F - smooth and rich
O - this is a winner! Not exactly a good choice for a session but as a novelty every once in a while, it'd be pretty darn fun. As the old ad went: Chocolate ... and peanut butter!

Beautiful, full head. Peanut butter and chocolate on the nose, very pleasant. The flavor come together really well in the beer. Mouthfeel could be a bit thicker in my mind but it is not bad at all. Overall a very fine beer, I would be happy to have this one around all the time!

Great integration between the peanut butter, chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Awesome looking, dark as hell pour. Bit bitter to balance out the sweeter elements. Medium mouthfeel with lower carb, makes this one drink lighter than it should. Solid offering.

Dark chalky looking brown with zero carbonation.
Has a strong peanut butter and coffee smell
The flavor mostly peanut butter with very little chocolate.
Overall, this could have been better if it weren't so flat.

Growler thanks to rudzud,

Pours a touch of head that fades quickly, pretty much pitch black color.

Nose brings big Peanutbutter, toasted nuts, little salted Peanutbutter and mild cocoa, caramel malts and little milk chocolate, little cookie dough, etc. Chocolate chip notes. Hint roasted malt note.

Taste brings a little thin like watery coffee thing, toasted coffee grinds, little acrid note. Then decent Peanutbutter, toasted Peanutbutter cup and mild milk chocolate, cocoa, hint of salted toasted nuts, with little roasted malt and little chocolate chip cookie dough biscuit thing. Fair sweetness, mild bitterness. Finish is sticky, little syrupy, mild bitterness, little fake chocolate and Peanutbutter lingering.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, little thin watery, light carb, little sticky.

Overall eh, it has its decent points, but in the end too thin watery and sticky with light carb and some fake chocolate and coffee grinds thing, nice Peanutbutter, and choc is decent at times.

Received in a trade. Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black hue with next to no head. Eh, it is a growler fill.

S - Aromas of nice chocolate, salty organic peanut butter. Chocolate chip cookies, really nicely nutty. No real coffee though.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, sweet, fake chocolate, peanuts are nice, like organic peanut butter, salted roasted peanuts, light roast. The coffee is very watery and weak.

M - Mouthfeel is rather thin and watery. The finish is a bit weird too, almost syrup.

O - Overall this beer was fun, but once again I have yet to be blown away by a peanut butter beer. This had promise but underwhelmed.

32 oz growler. Pours jet black with medium tan head, quickly dissipates. Peanut bitter smell, wow! Taste is burnt chocolate roastiness with hint of peanut butter. A little hop bitterness on the back end. Thin mouthfeel but smooth. Overall decent porter.

Poured from a Crowler into a pint glass
A: Dark brown with a two-finger head
S: Like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup was dropped into a cup of coffee. It's got the total cocoa-pb-coffee mix along with some chocolate malts
T: Just like the nose. A great blend & balance of flavors. Adds touch of hops
M: Medium-bodied, somewhat creamy, a hint of sweetness/bitterness
O: Great flavors, good complexity. Definitely a winner

Crowler shared by Curran tonight.

Pours a dark black, with a 1.5 inch white head, and a good amount of lacing.

Lots of fresh roasted peanut butter on the nose, with a good dosing of coffee and dark chocolate.

This is simple, and all the expected flavors come through nicely. The simplicity doesn't hurt it though- it tastes damn good anyway. Sweet, roasted peanut butter is here, but isn't actually the star of this one, surprisingly. The coffee flavor comes through more strongly, actually, which is nice, because I prefer coffee flavor to peanut butter. There's a good amount of cocoa powder flavor, along with a pretty significant roasty malt flavor. The flavor is surprisingly intense for the lower ABV.

This is medium bodied, thick for the ABV, but definitely not thick compared to other larger stouts. This has a nice and creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate level of carbonation.

Though a little bit simple, this beer showed a really talented use of adjuncts. Everything tasted real, and all the flavors came through nicely. Nicely done here.

@WesMantooth Bless You Sir!!!

This OHIO gem was gratefully received from said gentleman in NBS BIF #1
Pours a rich mahogany roast that roils forth a mocha colored froth that bursts with peanut butter aroma. Oh My God! <cried out like a school girl hearing juicy gossip> The smell is amazing.
Flavors inclide a slightly chocolaty malt, a nice gentle roast, some coffee, and a tad of peanut butter that leans toward malt powder.
The mouthfeel is fine, just under chewy. And the finish leaves a melange of the chocolate, peanut butter, malt, and subtle roast.
But...going back to the nose. Thankfully this is a big can. (Of which I want MORE). So I poured some more, a hard pour. Let that bad boy foam up a good 3 fingers. Ahhh, bliss. I could smell this for hours. But, now the experiment: I start sipping pure head, and it's mainly like it smells. Wow! Peanut Butter with malt in the backseat.
I wonder how snorting this would be.

Thanks @WesMantooth!

I had this a few times before, but not for at least a year. I remembered it all wrong. It is not too sweet but it is very over the top flavorful, like I remembered.

It pours all black with not enough head. The aroma is Starbucks - coffee dominates. The taste is a chocolatey, peanut buttery, coffee affair, but not too sweet or even malty enough.

I think this great, flavorful brew would be better if it were stronger and sweeter, but it is pretty easy drinking as is.

I was disappointed to learn they do not use any peanut butter in this beer. They use a PB flavored coffee. It's still a good coffee Porter, but if you want a beer that really tastes like Peanut Butter Cup, try Terrapin Liquid Bliss!
