Been here several times when visiting Chattanooga. Went here with the family for dinner. We had a great server, he was top notch. Tap list is pretty solid, several DFH beers since they are back in TN. Food was great as always. This place gets packed, so go early if you don't want to wait.

Quirky theme restaurant. I went to college in Atlanta and the Mellow Mushrooms there were always a favorite. Good quality pizza with a huge variety. Always fresh tasting.

I haven't been in Chattanooga for about 3 years until I visited the week of December 8, 2008. I thought the beer selection was pretty good for Chattanooga, both on tap (20 taps) and in bottles (about 50 - 60). Some regionals (Sweetwater in Atlanta)and national brands. I guess Tennessee recently "legalized" high gravity beers (over 6 percent), because both nights I went there, the bartender and server highlighted in their welcome that they had "high gravity beers" now.

After sampling a few taps (Highland's Gaelic Ale and Sweetwater IPA), I decided to try their "high gravity" beers. One of which was Moonraker, a strong ale from Manchester. The bartender described it as a "Triple Stout." At 7.5 percent abv, it ain't no "Triple" anything. And the flavor/appearance was nothing close to a stout. So, I politely called her on the faus pax. Her explaination was that the distributor had given a training class to all the service staff on their new beers, and she was adamant that it was a triple stout. I tried to explain the common characteristics of a stout and show her how Moonraker didn't meet any of them. This is just a pet peeve of mine, but if you're going to stock that kind of selection, you better be knowledgeable of the beers. Either she misunderstood, or the distributor needs a training session.

Bottom line, though, I'll still go back every time I'm in Chattanooga. For the pizza and the beer.

Stopped here for an early dinner. The place was busy but we got seated in a booth right away. It's located right downtown in the touristy section, but the place still has some charm. Lots of goofy decorations, crazy T-shirts worn by the employees, etc.

Beer selection is big and decent. They had about 40 beers on table, plus another 60+ bottles. There's a handful of macros in there, but some good selections as well: Sweetwater, Yuengling, Anchor Steam, lots of Red Hook, some Harpoon, etc. I tried Red Hook's ESB for the first time - went well with the pizza.

We tried the House Special and the Magical Mystery Tour pizzas. Both were quite good - made fresh and very tasty.

Service was fine. The guy looked like he was stoned the whole time (fit the place, though), but he still gave us good service. Food came out fast, he refilled drinks.

Overall, a tad touristy - it's basically a pizza place with a decent beer selection. Hard to go wrong here, if that's all you're looking for.

Located right in the tourist district. This is the first Mellow Mushroom I've been to that isn't restricted by beer laws, but I still wasn't extremely impressed. It's not horrible, and you'll find something for yourself, but I wouldn't consider it a beer destination.

The ambiance was pretty nice compared to the restaurant in Tuscaloosa, but I was also there during the day during the week, so it might get crowded during other times of the day and week. Our server was friendly, but not spectacular. The food was the same as all Mellow Mushrooms, and I'm a sucker for beer and pizza, so I give it high marks.

This Mellow Mushroom was one of the nicer ones I have been to. Just a stone's throw from the aqarium so it is in a good location as well. The outside was neat with sidewalk seating and the canopy was actaully large Coke bottle caps. The inside was clean with concrete floors and exposed metal beams in the ceiling. The food was good , as to be expected from this chain. I roughly counted about thirty taps, none of which stand out in my memory now. Service was fair and the place was fairly busy when we visited. I would return here when in town. As far as Mellow Mushrooms go this is above average. A nice place to visit.
