This is the Spec's closest to my apartment. Not a bad selection at all. Many imports and craft brews. I always find something good, and never had a skunked or outdated beer. Many other alcoholic beverages as well. If I were more of a wine drinker this place would be even better.

The service is spotty. The guys that stock the beers are very helpful, but when I go to check out they always seem to harass me about my ID. The manager even grabbed it out of my hand and walked off with it once. Not that I care if they card me, but that was a little excessive.

Price is very reasonable. They give a discount when you use cash. Overall, a good place to find some beer, but there are many Spec's around the Houston area that have a better selection. Though I can't complain to much since it is so close to my apartment.

This is one of the smallest, if not smallest stores in the Houston area, and so my selection score is lower than the other scores. They just don't get the love from the distribution system, etc., that the bigger Spec's stores get. Not their fault. Still, employees are always helpful when I have a question and the one beer guy I met (I think he is head beer guy, or whatever position that would be called) was more than happy to answer any questions and seemed enthusiastic about beer, so that's always good.

This use to be my main beer store many years ago. After I moved out of the area I found myself back in Kingwood one day and decided to swing by and pick up a few beers. My O MY has this place gone downhill. The beer selection used to be on the left along an entire wall. It is now crammed onto the right side of the store kind of as an afterthought. In fact all the regional craft beers are along a wall where a constant stream of employees comes out of the backroom with boxes of merchandise. I did find a few beers that I was looking for but this location needs some serious TLC.

The closest spec's near my home. As always, they have quite the selection of everything. From A to Z, you can pretty much find something for everyone at this place. Wonderful staff and are friendly as always. I have found many beer gems from this store. Seems like they always have great beer just sitting there waiting for you. Aging in silence. It's my job to release those beers that have quietly been sitting for so long, and unleash them upon this earth. Like the other reviewer said, many bottles are covered in dust, and past the best before date. Think of this place as your cellar. I recommend this place for quality beer, liquor, and service. A+

This store was 40 miles away from the house. But i still had try it out.The brew is located to the left of the store, includeing the cooler section.Like all spec's I' ve encountered, the customer service is always great.Nothing new stood out at first then we spotted a 750 ml bottle of Artevelde Grand Cru.Something new to me.The other selection was average to any other spec's store I' ve seen.Like all spec's 5% discount is offered for paying cash. They also have a wide selection of wines and liquors, and small cigar section but no humidor. While,in the beer section I noticed alot of the beers had lots of dust, which tells me the turn over rate is low in this area.
Good service, average selection, but make sure to check for freshness dates here.
